Is precision ground stainlesss steel worth the extra cost? Your opinions please!

I have come close to hurting myself with the angle grinder so many times I went to the portaband. It feels easier to be safer on a portaband.

Just yesterday I ran my thumb tip into the Porta blade while trimming some handle wood. My fault, dumb move, wouldn't have happened if I put some kind of table on it...but I have the tools because I do metal fab, so I don't want to modify the Porta...any of these tools will bite you, there's no substitute for paying attention.
I like the Porta for cutting out blades, but I hit hard spots in the last couple batches of stainless from Aldo, so the angle grinder is never far away.
...could have been some kind of work hardening, I guess...doesn't seem like it with such a slow blade.

Sorry to hear that you cut yourself!

I have been using push stick to avoid the same - it does take come getting used to.

A swagoffroad style table doesn't seem to limit the use of the portaband for other purposes (at least not very much).
