Is Rough Ryder Reserve really worth $27 more than Case?!

I have both the Case large stockman and the RRR common stock.

The RRR is definitely more noticeable in my pocket as it has sharper edges all around, but I carry it to cook outs and such because of the bottle opener and with the wider spacing it’s easier to clean inside after cutting sausages etc.

The Case is CV and cuts lots of apples I share with my dog. It’s my primary at home knife for sure, which includes use in the workshop.

I also have the large RR yellow stainless stockman that I keep in my truck for those just in case someone wants to ‘borrow’ a knife moments. It’s cheap and not sentimental so it fits the bill.

Anyway, if I had to have one, it would be the Case. I would pair it with a SAK like I used to before the common stock became my ‘party’ knife.

That’s not what I said but here let me provide you a link to the official peer reviewed scientific paper on the matter 😂 Or not.
Ok. I understand, your claim of 3x the effort of Case by RR is just poppycock.

I thought we were supposed to talk about knives and not prices. If it cuts and I like the pattern, I’m good. Value, like beauty is in the eye of the viewer.
In this discussion, Paul @Jakeywax31 has the best argument.
They go hand in hand, if price weren’t a consideration, we would all be carrying customs and neither Case nor RR would get discussed much.
Seems there is a lot of limitation lately about what can and can’t be discussed in a “discussion” group, if it keeps going that way then we may as well have a script to read from.
