Watch him Jenn!!!! Those college boys always have an agenda as well as an ulterior motive.;) :D

I am not that sort of boy! :o :o ;)

What? Do you have a guilty concience?;) :p  :D

Just think Dave, Jenn's got a cute little wasp waisted H.I.Balance that will set so nice and quiet on a finger and dance all around as you move your hand gently around. No sudden moves or she will have some hide!!!!;)

I dont carry my HI balance... Dave should be more worried about my spyder co. Matriarch, which is almost always with me. Its such a wonderfully wicked little knife.

Jenn,
You WANT me to have ulterior motives??? A 20 year old red blooded American male? No...couldent happen.

Yvsa,
She will dance around while I move my hand? But if I move too quickly she will have some hide???

Oh, a knife...we are talking about a knife... :o

I guess it would depend on what the ulterior motives are. Uh oh... I sense will power fading in the desire for a new knife!

Jenn,
the desire is always there, the cash flow isnt. :(
However, I have that JKM that I am working on. It is gradually going over the stone that has been in my family for 4 generations. The stone is so soft it puts a baby's butt to shame, actually the mirror finish is coming back. I think that I am going to build a horizontal riding belt sheath for it and carry it after I am done. It already shaves, but I can actually tell how the razor edge is improving... sorta scary.:)

Okay tell me something: is it just Terry or does everyone test the edge of their knives by shaving off arm hair???

I dont much arm hair left...and it is real thin. Personally, I start with my burly leg hair and move to my arm hair. ;) :p ;) :D

Hey,
When I get done with this it will be better than the razor you shave your legs with. (And no I do not mean that in the ulterior motive way!) It makes perfect sense, test the knife to see what it will do. If it can keep that razor edge, imagine how many boxes it will open at work, or how many envelopes, or packages containing khukris!

The possibilities are endless. :D

I understand the testing, but why shaving with it? Is it some sort of proven scientific method?

Hair is remarkably tough for its size. Try pulling one and breaking it...one that is preferably not attached. Shaving is also a good starting point for testing the steel since you have the same standard of sharpness across the board. :D

Actually I read up on that one.

HAIR DOES NOT grow back thicker and coarser when shaved. It grows back with a flattened end, looking and feeling coarser. Eventually it wears down and becomes tapered like a 'normal' hair. It happens to look thicker for the same reason. The hair is not tapered therefor more appearant.

If you want to get rid of hair, wax or something. I have a sheath that has this problem. But Jewel is a foreigner so I give her some slack.
