Is Steel Will using fake M390 and an unknown manufacturer?

so I got some light staining on a few of them. the benchmade and reate, if it stained you could not see it because of the stonewash. the zt's were hard to take a photo of the stains and was minor. the real steel stained the most but was also more polished surface....

overall it was extremely minor.

will m390 stain? in my experience it has lightly stained with mustard left on it for 24 hours.
I'm not seeing any stain. Was it washed with soap and water and a sponge?

Well ...... .it s internet/forums at the end .Everyone have right to do or write whatever he want . So I too .....I don t believe one word about your test/video or in your ability to sharpen steel like M390 .

Admittedly, I haven't been following this thread. But, you're questioning @cedric.ada's sharpening skills? Is YouTube not available in Macedonia?

Yes, I will questioning sharpening skills to everyone who need
half an hour and five stones to sharpen or maybe blunt already sharp knife ! BW , that steel have 4% Vanadium ............diamond stone are must IF you ask me !
What is You Tube ?

Cedric and adas testing is the best we have. Is it perfect scientific analysis, no!

It does however give us data, and so far that data has been shown to be meaningful enough to draw conclusions from.

We need to move past the empirical evidence used to rate performance to some sort of quantitative testing, as imperfect as it may be.

Waiting for a PhD level analysis of the steel isn't necessary to draw conclusions.

Overall his tests are a service to the community at large. When I spend $$$ for a knife, his testing re assures me that I'm getting what I paid for. In the end he is saving the entire community money by holding manufacturers accountable.

What the guy above me said. Pete has done something pretty much no one else has in youtube, and it does give a lot of usable data. Some people test a few knives at one task and never again, testing 3 steels against each other does nothing. This guy needs to be noticed more and garner more followers.

Maserin is making the modus, not sure if they ever said whom was making the cutjack.

Given how identical the components are, bearings, etc. I think Maserin is a pretty safe guess for their Italian line.

But hell, if you're curious, ask them.

All I'm implying is that we probably shouldn't infer anything from the test of another knife.

Their statement on the youtube video implies multiple manufacturers

"We are kindly asking you to contact us to return the knife to us for the refund (shipping is on us). To avoid any further rumors, we'd like to state that all labels/tags on our knives are completely accurate. We do produce the knives labeled "made in Italy" in Italy at various manufactures of Maniago. In particular, Modus knife is produced by Maserin."

Like I said, if you're actually curious, you could do some of the super easy work of asking yourself. Simple solutions!
