Is the BM710 still the iconic knife it once was?

I own 2 710s, the M390 version and the D2 version. I don't carry them though. They aren't really safe queens though. I just like to carry a knife for at least a few months before deciding how I feel about it. I like the looks of the 710, it's a well designed knife to say the least. I'd say it is still a must have for every (modern) knife collector. I would have to put it up in the area of the Spyderco Military, however the Military wins out IMO. I love me some modern folders, but I would say this one is a fundamental Benchmade knife to own.

I finally got one of these about 3 months ago (710 d2). Viewing them online never really did it for me and I was hoping I would have a response to it like I did to Spyderco knives - once I started using them, I loved them. For whatever reason, the 710 just didn't do it for me. Nothing wrong with it. It just didn't resonate with me like a lot of other knvies do. I seem to have that problem with a lot of Benchmades.

Just placed an order for the KW 710 in M390 last night. I've never owned a 710 before, plus have heard only good about Benchmade's M390. I'm excited to see how it stacks up to my favorite big folder, the Military!
 
Actually I don't! :) I have a Fluted Millie coming but sold all G10 and CF varieties. I have an Umnumzaan but no Sebenza. I can't justify the street price of the XM18 yet and the only operating BM I will own will be the AFCK M390 when it's released. I'm severely knife disabled I guess! :) I own a Para 2 CTS-20CP though :thumbup:

Unless you just plain hate the ergos of the 710, you'll be extremely pleased. :thumbup:
