A lot of people have been complaining about the Shaman's price; it jumped 20% in price shortly after being introduced. To his credit,
NickShabazz
has 36,737 followers on youtube. When he told the world that the Shaman is fantastic, his large influence over the market pumped up demand, paving the way for Spyderco to hike the price. (Did all of Spyderco's knives go up 20%? If so, my theory is wrong. Also, I don't know what role ApostleP or Nutnfancy or the others had, with their own followers.) I don't blame Nick at all; his reviews always seem honest, and he is, to our knowledge, not compensated monetarily for his voice, but his words do have an impact. If Spyderco was a publicly traded company, it would be unethical for Nick to trade its stock, for this very reason.
