is the "smart jig" from KnifeJigs.com any good?

SHHHHHHHHHH I'm working on this to bridge the gap between Freehanders and Jig Grinders

Saw that deal the other day! Anything to help our guys over sea's, but I don't see how helpful that would be! I would be afraid it would lock up, break, or not be able to get if off. But I'm sure they do things to prevent that. I would still shoot free hand though.

There use to be a similar gadget for determing the cant of your rifle. It was called "Long Shot Micro Level". It was a $100 while it was well made and did work most people preferred to use a bubble level for rifle cant.

Micro Level went out of buisness:rolleyes:

We've got an arm like that at work with a big hydraulic tapper. It's a pretty clever device. If a guy wanted to there's all kinds of things you could do with it. Use it as a tool balancer, etc. I set it up once with a die grinder and a cone burr to chamfer an odd geometry on a repeat part that would have been difficult/too costly to do in a machining center since it didn't need any other machining.

Nothing like gool ole paralleles. I've built quite a number of 4 link suspension systems using the basic concept.

Can't imagine lugging that thing into the field, let alone trying to put a bead on a target with it.

Imagine having an m240 on it instead and it makes a little more sense.
