I would not recommend buying a Spyderco from TaoBao.
I've reached the wholesaler listed in the Spyderco Dealer Locator, they confirm the shop (the one I wanted to order from) on Taobao is authorized dealer
That would be the recommendation if you want a true Spyderco knife that is the actual steel listed etc.Understand this, and I've reached the wholesaler listed in the Spyderco Dealer Locator, they confirm the shop (the one I wanted to order from) on Taobao is authorized dealer.
Weird.
Anyway, I may have to order from Spyderco official website and wait for the international shipping
There may be other international dealers on the list that would be willing to ship to your location. Buying direct from Spyderco will cost more than buying from a dealer.
I doubt you could if you tried!
This sounds like a game of lost in translation or broken telephone.

I will be staying in China for a while, here has a wholesaler (can be found on Spyderco.com), but do no business with individuals, the wholesaler introduces some dealers, but the dealers only do online business, most via Taobao.Where are you from friend, if I may ask? Can't be that hard to locate a serious dealer nowadays, basically wherever you're from![]()
I just don't have an idea telling the non-English name is helpful nor readable to most BF fans, on the other hand, by entering the URL, I cannot open the webpage without logging in, that's why I didn't give the name and URL, but as long as you ask.Just say TaoBao and call it a day......
I'm not sure which locator did you access, but here is the screen capture, and as I mentioned, there is no dealer, but just wholesaler.Probablyjbmonkey but he keeps insisting that some entity he is in contact with is listed on the Spyderco website. Would really be interested in the answer to that mystery because when I look up “China” on their dealer locater, there are no results.
assuming that's all legit.....maybe contact them for dealer list. it says that right on the page.I'm not sure which locator did you access, but here is the screen capture, and as I mentioned, there is no dealer, but just wholesaler.

As replied in earlier posts, I've reached them out, they don't do business with individuals, but introduced some dealers, but the dealers only do online business, and selling the product image same to the right-hand side one, no "lock".assuming that's all legit.....maybe contact them for dealer list. it says that right on the page.
That's what I did on the webpage, until I read the statement to use "Filter".I think he did already. When I typed China I got no results but evidently he clicked something I missed
selling the product image same to the right-hand side one, no "lock".
Anyway, thanks for your replies.
Haha, when I asked you that question I thought the answer would be Russia or someplace Africa ^^I will be staying in China for a while, here has a wholesaler (can be found on Spyderco.com), but do no business with individuals, the wholesaler introduces some dealers, but the dealers only do online business, most via Taobao.
So I don't have an option to easily access physical shop to see the products.
I believe its because of their knife lawsHaha, when I asked you that question I thought the answer would be Russia or someplace Africa ^^
Weird though, isn't it, Spyderco has a manufacturing plant in China, yet no authorized dealers there?
