Is there a fellow on BF who is a dealer offering Emerson blems?

Just wondering...

P.S. I realize it's quite possible that Emerson doesn't have blems, but thought I'd ask. Always looking for a bargain. :D

Aren't they all blems? I'm preparing to duck, :D

I don't think you're entirely wrong there. Most of the recent Emersons I've owned haven't been up to snuff in the fit and finish department. Their designs are excellent, but their products might benefit from some more strict oversight and standards.

I'd love to purchase a emerson for a TI framelock conversion but man do I hear BAD reviews.....always QC. So I decided to stay away, probably a good decision.

"all" is a little over the top.

Why would a dealer sell those. Bad for the makers' rep imo

Like most things...it depends.

Those who make their own knives tend to rework or fix any blems.

Larger manufacturers who import or make huge numbers can wind up with a lot of less that perfect knives that they don't feel its cost effective to "fix". Some are returns. Most are still totally useable, just not up to their normal standards, so why not sell them as blems or seconds? As long as they are clearly marked as such its seems reasonable and less wasteful.
Common practice in most consumer goods....from clothes to appliances.

Some companys will not do it for exactly the reason you indicate...they never want anything not perfect to have their brand name on it.

As to Emerson. I've never seen any seconds or blems. They may rework them...dunno. I don't own an Emerson. While I see raves about them and they have an extremely loyal following, the one's I have handled less than impressed me so far.
