Is there a perfect folder?

My Buck Sprints are about as perfect for me as it gets. Handle and blade lengths are ideal, opening and closing action on all of them is as good as any of my other folders, and their weights are nice for carries without creating plumbers crack on my old bony ass.

Here are my three Pro’s, and a couple of Selects that, aside from the handle materials, are just as good. In fact the cheaper Selects are my preferred carries because for all intents and purposes they work as well as the more expensive models, but I don’t have to worry about anything happening to them because they can be easily replaced. But I really love all of them.

For me? I’m always hoping there is but the reality is probably not. I initially thought maybe my small sebenza but then I could never get rid of my mini grip with Ti Wilkins’ scales. QC Drift might be the closest with size, materials, ergos, internal lock relief. But I love the Apache blade shape and prefer holes over studs. I’m also a fidgetor. Maybe if I could have the Sebenza frame with dimple milling, Apache blade shape with a hole in Vanax, and add the Paramour’s front flipper, then I could rest a bit. But until then I’m hopelessly lost in the rabbit hole. Case in point, I just picked up a large Apache and a Piratech Kraken. 😵‍💫

If there was such a thing for me, it would probably be the TRM Atom.

Perfect size for me, superb blade geometry and cutting performance, carries like nothing, weighs nothing, glass action, made in the US by some great folks, pricing is exceptional and isn't "hype" inflated.

The only downside is the availability, which I think has improved a bit.

Anyone remember Sanremu?
Ages ago I bought a 10 dollar folder, it was actually pretty decently made, no play, solid unit. I have no idea what happened to the company or if they're no longer around or "favored" I'm just reminiscing about that one experience

I've been eyeballing this as a contender, although I thought the thumb studs were dished out (which I like).

Is there anyway I can get a shot of the liner lock? I'm trying to get an idea of it's strength. It's hard to see in videos, but it has beautiful lines.

I think the thumb studs are typically dished - I'm guessing mine is older and they switched at some point(?)

I'd be happy to take pics of the liner lock. I won't be home until late tomorrow, but I'll take several and shoot them over.

It's actually the other way around - the stepped ones there are the new style they recently switched to. But I also prefer the old style ones they had. More unique. Plus slapping an o-ring on there was a nice little extra bit of personalization imo.

I thought it would be in your pocket 😁
