Welcome to BFC..

I think you are looking for Damasteel or Damascus steel..to my knowledge there is no steel called diamond steel.

and there are many custom makers on this forum. Go over to the Makers section and click on for sale by maker folders or fixed blades and you will see a plethora of many fine knives...

Ren

Ren , you are such a civilized chap. I am amazed by your restraint. I believe the Poster is looking for a knife composed of the one, the only, Ninja Steel.

Thanks Ren but the steel is not damasteel. I needs someting harder than Damascus. :( I needs my blade HRC 2 be around 8 or 9. that can cut steel like mud. Maybe if they add daimond dust 2 the damasteel that it will get 2 the hrc i wanna in my blade. :)

Hmm new one on me...but I am no expert..maybe some other guys here who know about steel can chime in...the Makers section many makers can give you advice.

I know many steels used can harden to rockwell 59 or higher..and give you years of performance..but a word of advice..dont be to quick to judge any steel untill you decide what jobs the knife is going to be used for..

I would be curious..what type of work will you need such a hard steel for?

Perhaps the OP is referring to the new superhard edged D2 blades. I can't remember the name right now, but there were several write ups about it. Goddard was there with the company at Blade.

Nothing that i can think of but just i want my knife 2 least forever. hrc 58-61 you will needs 2 sharper it from time 2 time and each sharping you do the blade get thinner and thinner. for a hrc thats close as diamond you will hardly needs 2 sharper it. unless you are cutting diamond. thats why i wanna a blade that is as hard as hrc 8 or 9. i dontneed it 2 be sharp i just needs it 2 be hard. since a hrc 8 can cut thur hrc 6 easy. maybe i m wrong.

I usually don't post here, however.................

As I once heard a cartoon character say....... "What a Ma-roon"

That said, I would be glad to make your fantasy knife. My current waiting list is 37 years, and I require a 75% deposit up front. The total cost of the knife, excluding shipping to La-La-Land would be your log-in name plus tax.

This would, of course, not include a sheath. For a quality sheath made from the skins of other morons, please add $.75.

I can guarantee that your knife will "least" forever.

:D lol pls do some hw b4 you talk.
theres such a material. go look up rado theyr one of a kind watch thats made of diamond dust that they put in the safe. as with ceramic those that use in watch can stand hit for any steel. maybe i m wrong never tryed it. just you cant make it that dosent mean none can. Robert not just diamond dust or ceramic can do what i wanna in my knife. Tungsten can easyly do the job.

The steel this man is speaking of is a high carbon alloy, that has diamond dust pressure forged into it at high temps(almost to the melting point). It is then put under extreme pressure forceing the diamond dust to actually form a molecular bond with the carbon molicules in the steel. Also known as Dicarbmolybidium. It can reach an RC of 89 to 93.
Your first problem with this knife is the steel was developed for a Gov. contract that was scraped. It is to date the most expensive material on earth. With a manufactureing cost of almost $60,000.00 per gram.
That said you get the steel I'll make the knife.

What about ceramic and tungsten? how much would that be? I really want a custom knife. thats = hrc 80 or higher the only things i can find is ceramic tungsten. the dicarbmolybidium is out of the qustion but i dont think creamic and tungsten cost that much. is it? all i can think of is that it will be a pain in the ass for the custom knife maker 2 make it.

Two metals that have been written about recently are Liquid Metal Technologies or more likely the "friction forged DiamondBlade knife line" (DiamondBlade L.L.C.) that Durwood Hollis wrote about in the October 2007 Blade magazine.

I seriousely doubt anyone here has the equipment to manufacture the knife you are seeking. I could be wrong.

Since we're on the subject, can someone here make a blade for me made out of Superman's nail clippings please?

The DiamondBlade L.L.C. was founded by Charles Allen, President - Knives of Alaska. The article showed several knives for sale under the $400 mark.

maybe not that diamond dust thing but for creamic and tungsten. they already making it for some low end knife. i cant see why is it so hard for any of the custom maker 2 make a knife for me. :( just time alots of time needed
