Wanted something small... approximately a 2.5-3" blade. Easy one handed opening prefered, but not a must. Thin enough for in pocket edc. I am a minimalist. US or Japan build. Blade type not much of an issue, as its gonna be a pocket queen most likely (lol). And most importantly, a nice handle thats not plastic. Wood would be sweet.

I know I am being very particular, but I thought if someone knew what I was looking for, that person would be here.

I think a Benchmade 707 sequel would fit the bill. Its thin has a very practical blade design. Is nice for dress or office. I have one that's in my EDC rotation.

If you don't mind a no-name blade that is not one hand opening and is clipless, you might look at this:

Very thin lockback. Stainless steel handle with wood inserts. Excelent fit and finish and lockup. Blade steel unstated, but performs like AUS8 or AUS10. (Takes a very fine edge and holds it a long time.) I've had one for some 20 years and it's performed well for me. Bloody thing is built like a tank. Prices are reasonable even by my standards. Klein is the major manufacturer of professional electrician hand tools. They don't make cheaply made equipment.

If you want a name brand, try one of the Al Mar blades or the Benchmade 440. Those are all thin. You might also look at A G Russel's offerings in gents knives.

CRKT Howard Viele Wasp (smaller version). Looks absolutely stunning, and doesn't cost all that much.

Benchmade Opportunist (around $95)

If you want small gents knife with wood handle, 2.5" VG10 blade, I would recommend Spyderco Kopa Cocobolo. It is absolutely beautiful. I have mine for a year and love it. It was limited run of 600 pieces and many dealers do not have this model, but still possible to find.
This knife also available in Apple Coral, Tiger Coral, Evrina, Gold Pearl. These models are available and they are on sale at NGK, also good deal at Wildealz.

I have only seen it with a black plastic handle sir. Trying to avoid that.

Thanks for the suggestions.. I am not a fan of that racing stripe look though. I own a Featherlite by Russell, love it.. but it feels a bit "soft". Checking out more of the Al Mar's now. Thank you.

Thanks Huugh. Just wished it was more wood in the handle.

I know I am being picky, but I am looking for "it". The last knife I will ever own (in theory lol).

Not a fan of that classic aggressive spyderco blade shape.

To go back to your thread title "Is there such a thing", "The last knife you will ever own?" No such animal.
