is this a authentic strider smf pic heavy

They both look legit as far as I'm concerned. If given the choice I'd buy the SMF in the first set of pics. Looks to be in a little better shape.

I agree with Frontline , they both look real and # 1 is in better shape.

The fake legos I have seen do not have USA stamped under the logo. The back spacer/G10 scale doesn't extend all the way to the 3rd screw (closest to the pivot)there is a stand off.The LBS is domed not flat. The pocket clip is steel not Ti.The china striders are always changing and getting harder to tell .Pay with paypal so if it is a fake you can file a claim.

here is a counterfeit Strider for comparison:D

looks fake to me. strider logo isnt the right size.

pocket clip screws dont look right, and the shape and angle looks off.

lanyard hole looks like the wrong size and the thumb hole, studs and over travel bead look wrong too.

just what i noticed and im not even a strider freak ha

Best bet is to send some pics to Strider and see what they have to say. I would be wary of just going on other members advice. I have several I purchased from TNK and they don't all look the same. Most are identical, but one did not. Tried to sell it here on the forums but a lot of uneducated collectors tried to claim it was fake. Get your info from the horses mouth. Send Strider some pics.

Here's a few pictures of my SMF , I don't have close ups of the logos, but you can see the hardware looks similar, as does the lanyard hole.
They also use an uncoated torx screw for the LBS. This came from a dealer.

Where did the original owner buy it from? Ask for proof if purchased from an authorized Strider dealer. The first one looks fake, I see a lot of wrong on that one, the second one looks legit .

Comparing the counterfit with the pic u posted, It looks real, the clip on the fake isnt titanium, and the over extension disk on the fake is a dome and the real its flat, so im going to say its real, im no expert and to be completely honest if you have a doubt that its real just dont buy it from that person, buy it from somewhere you know itll be real.
Also look at the g10. If you notice how much coarser the real (and your picture) g10 is compared to the fakes very smooth fine looking g10.

Yeah and the pivot hardware looks different on the G10 side, the bolt is more blunt on the real one.

im not sure where it was purchased in flordia or who it was purchased from, its a couple years old im pretty sure he doesn't have any proof of purchase on the knife.

The pivot bolt on the real one is also much closer to the lock bar cut out do to better machine tolerances.
The fake one has a larger gap of titanium in-between.

Plus the real one has a hole drilled through the lock bar for the detend ball.

Not to say that they are not out there, but I do tend to keep up on the fakes. And I haven't seen any come out in that exact configuration.

Plus the fakes tiger strip tends to look like an "S" shape.
