Is this a Blackwashed ZT 0801 that is renamed MM01K Minuteman?

I think part of the reason these have not sold out pronto in so many long (14+) days and very limited quantities (50) could perhaps be that ZT may release a ZT 0801BW at a later date exclusive to one dealer or not. It could also be the lack of any ZT markings on the knife.

Actually the Zero Tolerance name appears on the handle on the non clip side just like all of the other 0801's. =)

Even if they do release one. It will not have the sanitized blade which many have pointed out to us that's a big reason why they wanted one. =)

Plus chances are they would not have the charitable aspect that we do.

For us based on our personal experience they have actually been selling quite well. Especially in light of the fact that I am sure many knife folks don't yet know about them and times are tough right now.

In fact GDP contracted in the 1st quarter according to recently released revised gov figures.

No worries. My personal order was placed on May 13th and as before I applaud your efforts especially this weekend.

Thanks for the support. =) I suspect quick sell outs are actually quite rare these days. =)

As your supporter, I have to correct you in saying that quick sell outs are NOT rare! You may be new to the knife industry but popular and/or rare knives sell out within hours not days/weeks!

Perhaps people are skeptical, as I was, about your efforts! I personally checked with ZT before proceeding with the MM01K purchase.

Very good points.

Indeed they are. As another one of your supporters, I think that exposure and time will eventually play your way, but it takes time to build a reputation and become known in the knife community. If you continue to sell high quality knives like these, while supporting a good cause, you'll get there. :)

Personally, I'll be watching for future offerings as well as this one. I may even buy a Minuteman watch, just because. ;)

Had someone order 2 the other day which so far about 3 people have done this. =) So we are down to just 23 left. =)

Thomas,

A bit of an odd question - does the MM01K come in the standard ZT "A Real BEAST" box or does it come in something that has some Minuteman markings on it? Just curious. :)

Thanks!

Well we could just ship in the ZT boxes but we may actually ship them in the American made padded zipper knife cases our watches come in instead. Un-decided on that yet due to the cost of our cases.

That would be outstanding and a very classy approach. :)

And if not, it would be nice if you made the padded cases available to purchase. It would be a great way to store the knife (in a Minuteman branded case). I know that when I ordered my LE JYD from kershawguy, he included a Kershaw padded case with the knife and it was a pleasant surprise.

I will say this our cases our made by Randall cases who supply Randall Made and other top quality brands. Here is a quick pic of one.

My father and I collected custom knives for a number of years prior to about 2000. I used to use on a daily basis tactical folders from Carson, Ralph, etc and was quite a steel snob back in the day. That all got to be a bit too pricey for me and I sort of got burned out on it for a time. Plus to be honest brands like Spyderco, Benchmade, Kershaw etc got a lot better with their factory offerings as well so I just switched to factory knives. I still purchased customs every now and then. Especially when Dan Unger had a great deal on an interesting custom. =)

Anyhoo I used to buy a lot of padded zipper cases to store my knives in. Especially fixed blades which I did also carry fixed blades on a daily basis for a time as well. Until my employer at the time put a stop to it. =(

Honestly the idea of using padded zipper knife cases for our watches dates back to that. The cases we use are as good as or better than the cases I used to buy for my custom knives. Having said that I don't know that anyone would really be willing to pay extra for one.

Great looking knife and an even greater cause. Love the fact that you are aligned with Mercury One. How many of these are left?

Thanks for the kind words. =) We are now down to just 16 left. Pretty sure all will be sold during the pre-sale. Thanks to all of you for the support.

We now have just 13 of our ZeroTolerance 0801BW Sanitized blade based Minuteman MM01K's left. We are making just 50 of these!

25% of the profit from each 1 we sell will go to Mercury One for their Active Military and Veterans Support Fund.

These are slated for production in late June and we plan to have all orders filled by the end of July.

That's a really nice looking knife. The blackwash actually makes the 801 look great. I don't like the original 801, something about it seems off. But this looks great, too bad I don't really have the funds right now to buy it. :(

The MM01 DLC looks like it may get preordered soon though.

I'd be thrilled for my MM01K to come in the padded Minuteman case, if for no other reason than to further distinguish it as being unique from the 0801.
