Aficionados,

I am on the hunt for my first Busse and I came across this small example.

When it comes to Busses knives I'm still a pup, just wondering if someone could confirm the authenticiy of this knife. I have never held a Busse in him hot little hands, though from what I've been able to research this knife appears to be the real deal... if so, I'll hopefully get it for a steal!

Let me know what you think:

That looks to be a real Straight Handle Battle Mistress. If it's the real deal it is 1 of 300 original SHBMs that were made with the swedge. That makes it even more rare than a run-of-the-mill SHBM. I'd snag it up if I were you.

You guys are telling me what I want to here... hope to post back some good news by the end of the week.

I initally thought it would be good to start with as it looks to be a user... but why not start off in style?

Ha ha IF I get it & IF I don't like it, this forum will be where I'll break the news...

Certainly looks real to me as well.
If you get her, PIX PLEASE!!!!!

It appears to me to be a very early 1/300 SHBM, possibly even a 1/6. It sure looks a lot like mine. Great score if you get it!

Oh there'll be pictures!

If I don't end up this this one, I reckon I'll try to get my hands on a Ratweiler - they just do it for me!

Oh man you guys are making me nervous! Might be a little too much to ask to break my Busse cherry with such a rarity!

I'm hoping someone who's more financial doesn't snap it up before I can get back to it...

Out of interest, what would be a fair value? I literally have NO idea!

Nope, but I can help take it off your hands so you don't have to suffer wondering if it is a fake. :p Oh, and you need to turn your camera upsidedown when you take pics down there so we can see them the right way north of the equator. :D

But seriously though, if you pick it up, you may want to find the top half of the buckle for the sheath. I have that same setup for my basic 9 and it is very handy for quickly removing the sheath/knife without unfastening your belt. ;)

Nice older mistress!!! Smooth scales, like mentioned earlier...certainly a 1/300 and possibly a 1 of 6 (thinner swedge). From those pictures, it looks exactly like mine.
