Is this a genuine Battle Mistress?

Nice older mistress!!! Smooth scales, like mentioned earlier...certainly a 1/300 and possibly a 1 of 6 (thinner swedge). From those pictures, it looks exactly like mine.

From the hurried research I've done in the last couple of day, I dare say I've got a HUGE case of beginners luck if I score this one... 2 days til I know but who's counting?

The first thing I'll be doing is looking at the swedge!

I noticed that apparent trace of recurve, as well. Probably a trick of the light. OTOH, those early blades were all hand ground and were known to have some variation from one to another.

It's much more apparent in the original pictures. I asked the seller about it and he said "It was made after the maker had an accident in the workshop...."

Interesting. IIRC, Jerry had some sort of hand injury years ago, and mostly gave up grinding for a while. IIRC.

You have good eyes! I have looked & am going cross eyed... Then again I don't have the originals which may be better.

just comparing it to mine...similar but not the same...be careful..ask for paperwork or something to prove its origin

Some more pictures. It appears the handle has been modified. Still cannot see any recurve in the blade.

Pardon my ignorance, what else should I be asking for?

You should be asking where to send your money.

Everything looks completely correct to me. Right down to the slotted bolts and the sheath.

Handle looks original too.

Ha ha I like your style...
In my limited knowledge and depending on the wealth of knowledge you blokes have provided, I'm sure I'll be just fine.
Thank you all!

Sweet find!!

agreed... I'd be asking what kind of cash he wants for her!

Great job! enjoy it! I think Timmy is right... beat that girl like a rented mule!

The handles haven't been modified, all older ones were finished in place and the coating between the scales is missing. Everything is period correct.

Dicko, there is definitely a slight concave. Use a piece of paper or ruler on your screen. It is small but there.

Absolutely. Agree 100%.
It's real and it's spectacular!
If you don't buy that damn thing, tell me where it is and I will!
