Is this acceptable to you?

This is my new Case Texas jack. I noticed this a few days ago, but now it's starting to bother me now that I've been using the pen blade. I've never had this problem before, so I really don't know if this is something that should be considered acceptable.

Ive never had that happen either
id send it back to case or take some sandpaper and "modify" it a little

Well, just my own opinion, but that's not acceptable to me at all. I'd send it back to Case for them to take a look at.

That's what I'm thinking Carl. I'd just hate to part with it for however long it would take them to get it back to me.

I'd certainly send that one back---if some oddities are minor and I can fix them then I will but in this instance---ship it back.

That looks odd to me, and I'd be bugged by it too. Almost as if the pivot hole in the blade was drilled off-center (speculating, but that's what it looks like). OR, the end of the handle is excessively rounded off (I'm more accustomed to see this to some smaller degree on round-bolstered knives). I'd send that back to Case or the vendor where you bought it. I'm assuming the main blade doesn't have the same issue? Would be interesting to see them side-by-side, both blades open, to see how the spines line up.

I'd recommend a return to Case. I have bought 4 Case knives (one of which was a '65-'70). Unfortunately all had to go back for one issue or another. That one should have never left the factory. Case CS is good though. I'm sure they will make it right.

It would drive me insane.Either return/exchange it at the store if you bought it in a brick and mortar retailer or send it back for replacement.

I think I am more tolerant of some fit issues than others, but that's FUBAR and needs to be sent back. IMHO.

Oh hail no.

Case definitely needs to step up their QC. That's completely unacceptable, IMO.

Not acceptable. I'd exchange it with the retailer if possible rather than send it in for repair. (It shouldn't be sold again anyway so it may not matter if there is no sign of usage by you.)

You can see that the corner of the knife is rounded. Case definitely screwed this one up, but I'm sure they'd be more than glad to replace it.

This is why I would never buy another Case knife without a thoruogh inspection first!

I have not had good luck with them at all, with both fixed blades and slipjoints.

send it back, I expect some mistakes from a factory, but such a lapse in QC is too much. By contrast, have you seen that video of the victorinox factory, where white-gloved workers flick open every tool on every knife to make sure everything is just right?

UNACCEPTABLE!
