Is this bowie really a pre-factory BUCK?

The Rest of the Story, I don't know what story you are asking about? But, Levine had this up for sale not long ago on ebay. However, ebay closed the auction as the D-guard style knife is not legal is CA, so they said. I was watching that auction and was interested in how much it would sell for. Prior the auction getting closed it was at $800 the last time I saw it.

I have no idea if it was later sold or not. But, you have to admit that is one hell of a sweet old Buck knife!

i dont think it was jest the d guard, buck made some plain D-Guard's once
more likely it is the "knuckle duster studs" on the hand guard that are a no no

Your are right on there Dave, in CA it's a felony charge to have brass knuckle items. I emailed Bernard and asked him if he sold the knife in question. He Said it sold to someone here at BF and that if the new owner wanted to talk about what they paid it was up to the new owner.
