Is this Freek for real?

Masses clamoring for more Benchmades in M4, so you dangle the carrot with this 500 limited run and dealers only get one a piece? You guys messing with us ;)?
 
Dang, I really like this one and the Freek has not appealed to me before. I’d love to snag one of these. Really digging the green.
 
Any clue if the dealers have them now? I have one about 20 minutes down the road, but their website seems to be busted.

Yeah seems kinda like a tease. All these people begging for more M4 so they put this out so all those people see it and get excited only to not be able to get one save for the secondary market at outrageous prices. Testing the market maybe?

M4 will probably never be in a mass production knife. You guys have really got to stop looking at this from your/our own knife obsessed viewpoint. Most people who buy BM are not knife freaks like us who understand what M4 and other metals are. The only thing I see happening with M4 is issues with rust and patina and customers getting mad. M4 in a mass production knife could do more to damage Benchmade's rep than any of these QC issues people mention here.

The Contego seems to do well.

Every Benchmade dealer I've been to has both. Even if the M4 is a custom run it would be nice to get a few more than 500. I'm not a huge advocate of M4. I prefer 20cv but it's nice to have options! :)

I personally have no issues with m4. But looking at it from a business perspective, I could see the hesitation on Benchmade's part to do large scale runs of a product that might have characteristics that allow it to rust and patina more than their normal steel choices.
 
Cool to see other steels but F me running it's expensive!

Nice it's M4, wish it was CrN coated though. I might have to get one and swap to the regular handles, the jade G10 looks sloppy and the neon backspace...no.

For some reason, the jade G10 just doesn't work on this one for me, unlike the Spydercos.
 
I really like this, I usually am not a fan of Jade g10 but this looks great. Just wish it wasn't so limited.

I was on the waiting list, it was gone in seconds. The regular production scales are really sticky but boy o' boy do I like the blade shape.
