Is this para 2 a fake?

I sold this knife on a different forum and the guy is saying that it is a fake...
I wouldn't have knowingly sold a fake so here I am asking you guys :P
What do you think?

Looks legit so far. There are a couple areas that I personally would need to see macro pics of (like g10 to non-lock liner side figment on top) to be certain. But my first instinct is you're ok. I'll wait for our friends to chime in and help out too.

I would be very surprised if this was a fake. The fake black PM2's usually have black painted liners and the blade looks painted rather than coated. And when i compare the font on your blade to a known fake yours is different. The texture on your scales looks too good to be a fake either.

I've owned five para2's and 2 of them fake. Still have one fake and that is not one. The jimpings right, lanyard hole is pressed, lock, blade shape and scales look about right too. If it is a fake, its the best ive seen so far.

You can also tell by the paper work that comes with them too. The have typos thoughout them.

I've looked a almost every PM2 Fake to Real comparo on youtube. From what I can see in the picks and the examination of my own PM2 it looks real. One way to tell that doesn't involve the knife is the foam box liner. Perfectly cut is a fake, slight gap is real. The foam is also much more dense with real Spydies, you can see very little light through them. the fakes have the cheapest open cell crap foam that you could watch TV through without a problem. They must scrape it off of the dirt floor shack next to the hole they crap in.

Maybe I'm being harsh but I can't stand liars, cheats, thieves, or pirates. May all counterfeiters burn in hell! I don't see imitation as the sincerest form of flattery when it comes to someones product, I view it as outright theft. If it was fake I'd feel like a real turd if I sold it and didn't know.

The best thing you can do is get the knife back and refund his money after the PM2 has been returned and it's in your hand. This is a common ploy, refund my money now and I'll give it back. Only you never get it back. The only thing older than this con is prostitution. He could be a flake, it wouldn't be the first time someone has tried to screw someone out of money on the internet. If you're still unsure, I've seen advice given to send it into Spyderco and get a document proclaiming your PM2 as bonafide. Sorry about your luck.

I almost forgot, is the edge of the G-10 on the handle spine (the little ledge) behind the lock rounded or square, rounded is usually real. The other side is smoothed out also while the fake has sharper angle where the G-10 dips down to allow access to the lock.

Here is his reasoning:
"The weighting on the blade is too big the spyderco symbol is not exactly the same the screws are not spyderco the clip has the spyderco symbol in the wrong area on it and the fake g10 scales are contoured wrong just go look on YouTube and it had all the fake wrrors on it."

is there any weight to this?
I intend on getting the knife back before refunding!

Followed your link here from your post on the other forum... I have the exact same Para2, purchased from the same place and it looks exactly the same as your pics. I looked at the specific areas your buyer mentioned and can't spot any differences. I would put money on the knife you sold being legit. Good luck with working it out...

The jimping also actually changes the angle as it goes up the spine on real PM2 also. This guy sounds like a flake. Here's a possibility? He probably already has a PM2 and his is a fake, so of course it doesn't match!

Thanks mate!
Nice to know there are a few other knife nuts on the other forum :)
Knife section aint too bad but I haven't been on there for a while. Trying to cut down on spending and these forums dont help!

whatever you do keep the pictures of the knife you sent him. And take note any wear on any points. Too many times I have seen guys claim fake but actually swap the knife out for the POS they have. he may switch the clip or other hardware to make it look like your knife. Im not saying you are for sure being taken for a ride. Just saying its possible.

Well...I took out mine and compared them and they sure seem to match up perfectly. Mine was purchased new from a very reputable dealer. No way to be sure without comparing in person, but if yours is a fake it is very well done. IOW, I'd bet it is the genuine article.

I'll echo what others have said and suggest that you protect yourself as much as possible as you go through this. It could be a scam. OTOH, the guy may just not know what he is talking about. Just be careful.

Best of luck.
