I sent something out on the 8th, before 11:00 am. Postman picked it up.
It was "processed" through the sort facility at the major city near us at 10:35 pm on the 8th.
No other update after that. :(

Does Priority service have a guarantee for an arrival date? I thought it was 2-3 day service?
Heck, a letter would have gotten there in 5 days.

And no, weather cannot be a factor because I've UPS shipped/received packages this week from the same region and they have all been delivered.

acckk

The package could have been delibered last week and their "tracking" system still not show it. Hang in there a bit longer. Priority mail means that they hope it gets there sooner rather than later. I've had it take 5 weeks when I could have driven it in 6 hours.

no guarantee for priority.
and if they dont download their handheld scanner everyday or at all (in the case of my small town post office) there will be no tracking updates.
just also had a small priority box go to the destination town and then to the next state to the north and then back...total trip time 11 days.
still no one knows why.
most, however, make it in 3 or less.
good luck

I have sent about 100 packages via USPS Priority w/ DC and about 98% of the packages get there in 2-3 days.

The only mail that's 'guaarnteed' is their Overnight Express mail.......all others a just a 'guesstimate'.

With that said, most of all the 2-3 Day USPS Priority Mail I send makes in the 2-3 day time-frame but I have had a few take weeks.....ya never know. ;)

You are a lot luckier than I have been. Not uncommon for it to take 3-7 days using Priority. The last time I sent something to Utah from Oregon, it took 5 days  I've had better luck using First Class

The only plus for me to using Priority, is being able to use the flat rate boxes

At work we've always used UPS. Guaranteed delivery times, auto insurance of $100 and tracking all day.
(We've only had 2 packages get lost/damaged since '87)

As some others have said, USPS has normally been taking 2-4 days for me.
The 5 days and no updates is what I don't like.

I'll give it some time. I contacted the receiver and he'll let me know as soon as it gets there.

It's not guaranteed, but it will likely arrive. I shipped well over 4,000 packages via Priority Mail when I was doing eBay full time and never had a package not arrive. There was ONE that got lost and came back after a month, but it DID come back.

Look for USPS to roll out Priority Mail Guaranteed later this year - but I don't know if you will have to schlep your packages down to the PO or if carrier pickup will apply. What you will not see anytime soon is tracking for Priority Mail - it will just continue to be (non-realtime) Delivery Confirmation for the foreseeable future.

Still nothing updated. Which I'm seeing as normal.
Today I received money from the purchaser.
Postmarked the 10th, 2 days after I shipped my package. :(
Seems mail is going out from there but not coming in.

Just received notification that it was delivered. Had me worried for a bit.
The snow plows must have been out in force. :D

I've had packages that have been delivered but the DC didn't say so. I've also had packages that were not delivered but the DC said it was delivered. However, I have never had a domestic package take longer than 4 days (including Sundays) to arrive at its destination. Also, I shipped Priority to France once and it took about a week. Not too bad in my book.
