Is Wilson Combat Doing Away with the Chris Reeve line of Knives?

I just called Wilson because i was very curious, and the gentleman said that they, only temporary, stopped taking orders. CRK needs time to catch up.

Your scientific method beats speculation EVERY time. Thanks.

My Sebenza cherry has now been popped :) a Large Starbenza is on its way and really looking forward to it.
I always thought of Sebenzas as being rather plain (never liked the inlays) and when I saw the small Starbenza in a gun magazine with the starburst pattern, I got all excited until I found out it was the small.

Then I just saw the large Starbenza was available on WC and it was all over from there!

I'm actually kind of bummed they're in stock lol. I saw a perfect new Large Starbenza from April 2012 pop up in the Exchange a few days ago and impulsively bought it right then. The main reason I did this was because I thought it just a limited run that was gone and out of stock, at least for now. I always wanted one badly but I thought I was the luckiest person ever not only to find a basically new Large Starbenza but also to find it at $400. Then I find out an hour later that they're actually in stock lol. The good news is that any like new Sebenza selling for $40 or $50 below it's new price is a pretty good deal anyway. I just thought I was getting a discontinued knife that would normally sell for at least $500 used. I can't complain though. I always wanted one of these (still want the Umnum version even more... hopefully they come out with more soon) and it's one of my faves, especially with the extra grip and the extra aggressive jimping they use on these models, which is the best jimping I've seen on a CRK, by the way. Plus, I absolutely love the double thumb studs. This particular one just seems like a "good one" if you know what I mean, too. CRK's are generally flawless but some are just that slightest bit more perfect than others. I can't say this will replace my Large Micarta Insingo as my favorite, but it's definitely pretty close. Love this slightly more tactical and much cooler version of the Seb! I NEED them to come out with more Startac Umnum's, though!!! :)

And here's a pic, just for fun. The Gayle Bradley was just my other EDC today. I don't normally carry two, just sometimes.

Oh, don't feel bad...I scored one on the exchange in the brief window that no one had any left anywhere and paid $465! I thought I was SO lucky! Especially because they were selling at over $500 on Ebay a few days earlier! Then it pops up at Wilson for retail and I'm like...DOH!!! But you know what? I don't care...I love it. And I didn't buy it as an investment or with the hopes that it would go up in value. I don't buy any knives with that in mind. Eventually they will be completely out of stock again and eventually they will probably get more in. And the prices will fluctuate accordingly. That's the way it goes. Enjoy yours...you got a great deal on it!

Glad I moved on this (though, this was an expensive month for me ... so my wallet isn't as thrilled as I am!). Arrived yesterday, but didn't get around to taking any pics until this afternoon. Really like the feel the starburst pattern provides ... and the double thumb studs are a great plus. All this greatness for a mere $40 more than a plain large Sebenza!

Hmm when I look at the pictures of the star-Benza on the Wilson website it does not show double thumb studs, only single? It doesn't say double studs in the spesifications either. How did you get hold on a double stud version?
You got yourself a beautiful knife, congrats! :)

Can't say for sure. One of the reviews on the page also indicated double thumb studs. Regardless, I am extremely happy.

If that large starbenza came with the double studs than its actually what a plain large 21 with double studs would cost anyway so you are not paying a penny more for that awesome starburst pattern.

I think the newer/later ones have double studs and the older ones single - just something I've noticed. Not exactly sure when that change occurred though. Maybe when they went from S30V to S35VN? I don't know...just a guess.

I think this latest run of Starbenza's all have double lugs. Mine is from March or April and it has double lugs. I think the earlier Large and Smalls from the 2011 runs were single lug, but I believe all of the later ones have been double lug. I love the lugs, the texture and grip it provides, and I love the extra hard cut jimping!
