is your knife the most expensive thing you have on you?

Today it was my wedding band, then flashlight then knife. I didn't carry a pistol today. And I carried a benchmade stryker that cost me $17.50.
I would say that typically my pistol is the most expensive thing that I carry. Followed by my wedding band and then flashlight and knife, which are usualy around the same price

Well, my phone is $380 if you consider what the full price is (I didn't pay anywhere near that). I usually wear a G-Shock 7900 so that's not hard to beat at all and I don't carry a gun (not 21 yet). Lately, I've been carrying my SnG so yes, my knife is the most expensive thing on me. :D

HTC Thunderbolt
Citizen watch
Usually knife (CRK, Strider, some Emersons and Benchmades)
Sunglasses
Lower cost knife (Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, etc)

I work at a pool so I need good sunglasses, don't have my carry permit yet (California so it's a pain in the but) but my gun will be the most expensive when I carry

Sounds like a lot of you guys don't have smartphones, or don't realize that they are worth ~$600 :)

For me it's phone, watch, knife.

I'm not big on smartphones, or any of those fancy gadgets. I have a run of the mill cell phone that I rarely use.

My knife is almost always the most expensive thing on me.
I keep spending the money on knives rather than on other things.
I'll be like "$250 for this knife? That's reasonable. $60 for pants? You outa your frickin mind?"

For me it would be:
Watch (A Seiko Kinetic Auto Relay) > Phone (Samsung Galaxy SII) > Glasses (Kenneth Cole frames with prescription lenses) > Knife (most of my everyday carry knives are between $100-150)

Also sometimes the shoes I'm wearing are more expensive than the knife.

They should rename those.
$600 for a phone? Doesn't sound smart to me.:D

Can't even cut a steak with the flippin thing.

While I know/hope that you were being facetious, I find it hilarious that:

$600 for a computer that fits in your pocket with Internet access, gps, photo and HD video recording, and can make phone calls vs a $600 knife that performs 5% better than a $60 knife.

Only on BladeForums will some people find the phone price ridiculous and the knife a bargain :D

The most expensive thing on me really is the knife most of the times. I have no smartphone, my watches are cheap Casio G-Shocks or even cheaper mechanical Seikos. Just sometimes I wear more expensive coat (combined with a cheaper knife, otherwise it doesn't beat the knife in price), and the most expensive thing on me ever, are my polarized dioptric sunglasses.

depends if im wearing my luminox watch or carrying a gun. most of my carry guns are >600 at least so thats my heavy hitter. started carrying customs so they are the third most expensive things i carry on a regular basis. if im not wearing a watch and just carrying my keltec then my cutlery might be wroth more. oh and my cellphone is worth 20 bucks, i hate smart phone. im too busy paying attention to my surroundings to play angry birds. i have jackets wort more than 400 so i guess that is worth a bot, but thats just winter.

I have a vivid memory of having this realization when I was 16 or 17. I was walking across town to my friend's house (I had no car). I was wearing $20 shoes, jeans, a t-shirt, & had around $20 cash & the brand new $100 AFCK in my pocket.

Today at work I had cheap steel toes & my uniform on & a new CS Voyager in my pocket. The new sprint AFCK will be my on-the-town knife when it arrives, & the most expensive item on my person by far.

That's probably because some people don't need Internet access, gps, photo and HD video recording while going out of the house. ;)

Hard to say, I didn't pay for my phone unless you count the two year contract that comes with it. If you count the contract then the phone is the most expensive thing I own besides my car.

If it was up to me, never. My boots are more expensive than my best knife. Spending more than 50 euro on a knife is more ridiculous to me than wasting anything on a cellphone. :D

I do have to drag a laptop along for use at school though. Even though it's ancient, it was pretty expensive back then.

Depending on what I carry from the EDC rotation. At $260 the Costa Del Mar sunglasses come in under the Boss street and mean street and over the Bravo1 and F1.
