is your knife the most expensive thing you have on you?

Well I've read through the post and see that I forgot to list the phone, and belt. The phone was no cost, but required a 2 year plan, and if you count that then the phone is the most expensive thing I have on. I have the internet package on my phone and it is really convienent when out and away from my laptop.

Depends if it's winter or summer. But I would have to say that my knife is certainly more than everything else I am wearing that day (clothes, phone, keys, betlt, etc.) I don't wear watches.

It is an interesting question, one I had not considered. For me it's my smartphone first, then the wedding ring, then prescription glasses, then the knife. Depending on the day, my shoes may out price the knife I'm carrying. I have never paid over $128 for a knife... yet. Blue M390 Para 2 due in January will set a personal knife price record and I do plan to use it.

Of the stuff I carry that most of my friends do not carry, the knife is always the most expensive item. I wear inexpensive watches that all cost under $50 retail. They get the job done for me, just like a $20 folding knife does for many people. Isn't it revealing where we invest our resources?

I use a Sage 1 for my EDC so that's ~$100
...but I also smoke a personal vaporizer(e-cig for the layman) and my custom one I bought for ~$100 is the one I primarily use

It's an even cut between the two.
Steal either from me and I'll be equally pissed either way.

My Stretch I carry for the last month is sort of a fraction of what my watch costs. None of my knives comes close to it. All together they worth about 8 times more than the watch. But I never carry all of them at the same time.

1. My soul.
2. My brain.
3. My leather jacket.
I live in a big city and I never feel the need to have a knife on me when I'm out in the street. Your body language, your eyes, your voice, your mental sharpness and your ability to run, are your most efficient survival tools in real life.

Yeah, but you can't cut jack with any of that stuff, so don't forget to bring your knife.

For me, it's phone, then knife, then shoes. Clothes are all over the place value-wise, but any one article isn't usually worth more than my knife that day.

During the week, I'm wearing my $400 Citizen dress watch. On the weekends, it's my $150 Casio. I mostly carry my $30 Spyderco Ladybug, so my watch wins out every time.

Blackberry Phone, Casio Protrek 5100, Knife then Wedding Ring (but, I expect like most, it's the most valuable and irreplaceable).

The pricey things I routinely carry include cell phone, knives, electronic car keys, and my handgun. The handgun is probably the most valuable in most cases or it certainly retains the most value after purchase. I keep my watches pretty functional it certainly adds to the total value.

First would be my Breitling Aviastar or Omega Seamaster depending on which one Im in the mood for. Next would be my HK P7M8. Then my regular large Sebenza. And to make a ponit of somewhat expensive daily use goodies. Booth of my watches were bought years ago used for 25% what they cost today. My P7M8 was bought in 1992 for 600.00. I love the finer daily use items and if its something that use everyday.Im going to try and have the best that can be bought and use it for decades. A buddy was with me when I bought my Seamaster in 1991 and told me I was crazy for buying a used watch for 650.00. On Thanksgiving he brought up that day and said he wishes now he would have took my advice and bought the Speedmaster sitting next to it for 575.00! The Speedmaster is now worth 3000.00 & my Seamaster is about 200.00 with the extra bracelet I got with it! Now I am getting the bug for Custom folders.....Bought a Mike Irie that was going to be a present but it might become my edc. Sucks to want the caviar when you can barely afford to squeeze a Sturgeon in the cover of night :-)

If you're talking buying power, what's in my wallet is the most expensive thing I have on me. But it's intrinsic value is almost zero. It's called a credit card with a high limit. And it's worth way more than my Rolex and my Small Sebenza put together. :D
