Isn there anyone at Buck that checks the quality of the knives anymore ?

I bought my first Buck knife in '76 when I went into the Navy it was model 112. It was absolutely perfectly streamlined with no blemishes or quality control issues (and I'm a perfectionist) and stayed on my belt way after leaving the Navy until I broke the tip off which was my fault. I have started buying Buck knives recently and replaced my 112 finally with a 110 which I thought I wanted because alot of people in the Navy owned the 110 which knida made me feel small. When I received the 110 in the mail it just seemed like it wasn't the same quality off the bat. The blade wasn't centered, has a tad bit of horizontal blade play, rivets stick up and actually grab skin sometimes, scales contouring are uneven and not perfectly flush with bolster, top of blade spine where it drops down is knicked or just not polished right, the border tooling on the leather sheath flap is very uneven. I notice the 110 handle seems rather slimmer then my old 112 and because it's a new knife it's still kinda slick and kinda afraid of loosing grip on it. Anyway, I could go on about the 55 and Vantages I also bought but won't. I miss my old 112 buddy.

Well, I just started a thread about my new BassPro cpm154. I looked at it and at my 1992 110 a few moments ago and noticed that the lock bar at the pivot end sits out a bit, for a bit, and the bar is not flush anywhere on its length. Such is not the case on the older knife. Some of the posters would consider be a whiffle-whoosie for even noting that, but if something is out of place to begin with, it usually does not get better. Still like the knofe, still want to love Buck, especially the iconic 110, but now I do not know whether to have it looked at by someone with smarts or not. I wish I had admantium claws like whatshisface, so I could avoid all this knife trauma.cwd

You could give Buck a chance to look at it
