Two weeks ago, I found this girl in my backyard. There's a bunch of these black widows all around my house but she is exceptionally beautiful IMO so I decided to keep her in a little fish bowl that I have. I wasn't sure what to feed her but the other day I put another little BW in there and she went right at it in like 2 seconds. Tonight I put 4 new spiders in there and she cought 3 of them within seconds of me putting them there. The last one is still running around scared and I'm not sure if she even wants it.. I'm like a little kid, this is so interesting! Anyway here she is..

Oh she just put the three that she cought into one ball and I think she's sucking their juice out!:thumbup:
 
Awesome! My dad used to keep a Black Widow.

TIP: Seal the tank with woman's nylons in case she has babies. They are unbelievably tiny, will go through any regular screen, and she'll have millions of them. If you don't have a girlfriend, head to the store ASAP and grab yourself a pair of woman's panty hose.

That is both amazingly cool and supremely creepy to me. I'm just glad that we don't have them in these parts.
 
Ray, that is creepy! That's usually the first step when an individual goes mad enough to try to take over the planet. Next you will build a secret lair on the side of a mountain, atop a big tank filled with sharks!

Seriously cool though.
 
Man, that is freakin NASTY:eek: You my friend are sick:eek: I would have smashed that thing so fast. I then would have got out the bug spray and sprayed the entire yard and house.

You got balls as big as church bells to keep that thing alive:D

that is one beautiful spider you got there!! I have to wonder however, if it would be able to lay viable eggs without a mate, I suppose it's better safe then sorry. I used to find those all the time when I lived in Colorado and I can tell you that is a very nice specimen! Have fun with your new pet :)
BTW I too think spiders are great and Do Not kill them if I see them but I will pick them up and put them outside. I think being afraid of them is just silly!!

U sir are a bit crazy! Next thing you know, hes keeping a rattlesnake by his bedside b/c its got a pretty tail!

My brother thought it was cool to keep piranhas until one took a big chunk out of his hand.

I'll be checking the boxes real careful now next time I buy a knife from you.;)
