Purchased a nib buck 110 from NycEric last Monday Nov 21. Claimed it and emailed him, and he promptly said it was mine and I paid him via PayPal goods and services. Payment is received and he told me it would be shipping tomorrow, the 22nd. Fast forward to Sunday, the 27th. Never received tracking info or confirmation of shipping. I usually won't bug someone, because life is hectic and sometimes it's easy to forget stuff. So I email him asking if he ever got around to shipping it because he never sent tracking info. He responded saying it shipped Saturday and should be at my house by Tuesday, the 29th. But no tracking info. Tuesday comes, no knife. I email him back telling him the whole thing is starting to seem a little fishy, and I would like a tracking number asap. He responds saying it was shipped Saturday and he doesn't have the tracking number, it's at his office. Well I waited one more day figuring I should at least have the tracking number when he goes into work, or maybe the knife would show up. Nope. So I email him back saying I would like a refund, and that I would refuse the package(these were his instructions via our email conversation on Tues). Now it's Thursday and not only haven't I been refunded, but he hasn't even responded back, and still no knife. So at this point I'm giving him until tomorrow before a file a claim through PayPal and contact my credit card provider. I have been in contact with another member who bought a knife off the same sales thread who also got the runaround, and was not pleased at all with their experience. I'll let them chime in if they choose to.

Here's the link to the sales thread. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...!!!-ZT-Spyderco-Hogue-more?highlight=Buck+110

*Update, money has been refunded in full*

I want to chime in here.I had a knife for sale that he said he would take.I sent him paypal email and.......nothing.Not a huge deal BC I had someone in line behind him but still annoying.

Why is this such a common theme lately? Are we dealing with the same person here? Kidding of course... I'll send him a PM informing him of this thread.

I can back jackals story. I had a bad experience with NycEric as well.

here is what happened.

Day 1 - I indicate my offer to purchase said knife and promptly (within minutes) send funds. Seller tells me funds received, and that he will ship tomorrow, Day 2.

Day 2 - Seller indicates he dropped the knife off at Fed Ex for express delivery that morning. I ask for tracking and he says its at the office, but he will send tomorrow. At this point I was fine with assuming it would arrive Day 5, as this week included a holiday - Thanksgiving.

Day 3 - no communication between us.

Day 4 - Thanksgiving, no communication between us.

Day 5 - No package delivery. no communication between us.

Day 6 - No package delivery. no communication between us.

Day 7 - Sunday.

Day 8 - I email him saying I still haven't received package. I ask for tracking and he says he has the tracking at home, not in front of him. He says I should receive it today. Package does not arrive today.

Day 9 - I email him letting him know that no package arrived yesterday and I am out of patience. I inform him that am contacting PayPal to dispute. He responds that Fed Ex returned the package to him as undeliverable on Day 8 at 4pm, and that Fed Ex does not delivery to my address with the type of shipping he used. He said he went back to Fed Ex that Day 8 and resent with another shipping type and I should have the knife today (Day 9) before 4:30pm. I go home at lunch and the Fed Ex package it there. It shows the package was dropped off for shipment by the seller on Day 5, three days AFTER he said he dropped it off at Fed Ex for express delivery on Day 2.

So this guy lies to me on Day 1 about his intent to ship and then lies again on Day 2 about when he shipped it. The he formulates a story about why it has taken so long to arrive, that there was issue with my address and the package was returned to him. Recall that he claims to have resent the same original package that was returned to him, and that the reshipment was to have been shipped on Day 8. But funny how I get a package on Day 9 that was shipped on Day 5 not reshipped on Day 8.

I called him on that and he says he was confused with another package that was returned by Fed Ex, related to another knife he sold to someone else.

I now see why he refused to send tracking when I asked for it - He didn't have any tracking information as he hadn't shipped it!

To deviate just a little ... here is something that was discussed earlier this year that would solve the where's my tracking number/did you really send a package issue. Go to MYUSPS and register an account. Once you do, you can set alerts that will let you know ANYTIME a USPS package is in the system headed to your address ... even ones you don't know about!!! It is a great service.

The biggest thing I can say is honesty and communication is key. If he would gave told me Sunday that he dropped the ball and simply forgot to mail it, or any other honest mistake, I would have been more than willing to work things out. But as of now he won't even email me back. It wasn't an expensive knife, luckily, but it's still frustrating, and a pita for me. Hopefully it gets worked out.

Another to add to my ignore list :thumbdn:
Just enjoy the hobby with good people and members!

I would like to chime in here. First off, Jackal I sent you a refund the moment I received the email requesting a refund. I have emailed you a screenshot of the paypal refund with timestamp.
I have perfect feedback, and have only been on blade forums for a few months. Every prior transaction I have made, the other party has been very happy. When I said the tracking numbers are in my office, I don't get to my office much as I am a physician in an Emergency room of a busy NYC hospital, I sometimes stay in the hospital for 2-3 days without going home or to my office. Communication has been delayed because there is no service in the ER and I don't exactly get a chance to check my emails often on the PC. When I did send the knives out, I had them sent via the hospital service, who sends the tracking numbers to my office fax machine. I will not sit here and explain further what happened to each knife, I hope my feedback will speak for itself. I have been here for a few months now, and completed maybe 20 trades/sales/purchases and have never had a complaint. I have completed trades with members who have feedback in the hundreds, and they are happy to repeat business with me. Im sorry you had such a bad experience, and maybe the communication was not ideal, and I apologize for that, it has been a ridiculously busy holiday week. I still have not received the Buck back in the mail, but have refunded you. Check your email

So if you are sooo busy and can't communicate properly, why do you continue to sell? You must realize there is an issue here??

I do communicate properly. As I said there has never been an issue prior to this. I communicated with jackal every step of the way and never ignored him. I sent him a refund as soon as he requested one.

What about seeverscpa? What he has stated is not bad communication, it is outright dishonesty. If you avoid addressing, you are going on my ignore list.

This disagreement makes no sense. Both parties make assertions that are diametrically opposed. FYI, if I were an ER doc, I would not be buying/selling knives. The ER job is the priority, and a buyer/seller need to make the CUSTOMER the priority. IMO.

I will be addressing within an hour, when I have a moment to, as for now, please don't let me hold you from adding me to your ignore list.

I have been an active member on this forum in my short time here, I have a perfect feedback rating, completed 20-25 transactions without a hiccup, always cover PayPal fees and ship FedEx priority on my dime, and have donated/given away free knives more than once. If any of you do not want to deal with me, please don't and add me to whichever lists you like.

that's an asinine position. buying and selling knives is never a life priority, regardless of your profession.
