It followed me home (Part 2)

I just traded this old 25lb jeweler's anvil...

For this lot of goodies. Again, both parties happy.

The top right head is an R King with a big eye, reminds me of those Collins export axes. The polished one is a perfect Sater Banko boy's head, the Hudson Bay is a Legitimus. Good stuff.

R-King Connie pattern, and the beveled bottom right ones are some nice ones!

Planning on using the handle as a pattern handle, it's busted from overstrikes. Looking forward to making a handle for this old champion.

That's a beauty, rockman, a REAL beauty..head and handle! I love that look in a handle..elegantly primal. With proper grain orientation to boot!:)

I threw that grain shot in there just for you
I hate it's busted too bad to rehaft but rather than cut it down for a shorter handle I'm leaving it as is for a pattern. It 35" so just right for me.

Estate sale, I had to get there 3.5 hours early (5:30am)to get a good number and even so I was number 11. Luckily, it paid off. All told was I spent $255. The cart and rolls of sandpaper will come in handy. That anvil shaped Avon botttle is my fourth, I have them all on a shelf together. And I got 7 NOS nice slim cruiser handles.

I never knew they made an anvil shaped cologne decanter.
I've got 2 pepper box pistols ( one nib ) a colt Navy, deuling pistol, pirate pistol, another flintlock pistol, derringer, cannon, polar bear on iceberg,Indian head, Studebaker, cb radio , champion spark plug, nut and bolt, riverboat, and a race car. All of these are ones that my dad got for Christmas back in the 60's and 70's.

Picked up this today along with a couple of hammers. Warped handle . Needs steam and straightened.

The straight claw is a keen kutter. The diamond is barely visible. Nice old handle that I can rehaft. The super duty has one flat face and one domed face.

With the minor checking present on the grain shot, I would bet that is an air dried haft.

That's pretty cool. I wonder how that axe feels and cuts using it with the curved handle.

Bob

I put a file on it real quick this morning, racing to beat the heat, took it out and got into some dense vines and brush, it swings good left handed but switch to right handed and it's awkward and unbalanced. Ill either put another handle on it or straighten this one.

Did a little Google search on this hammer. I believe it was made by Simonds in Fitchburg Ma. Just down the road from the king of steel pickers. JB.

I stopped at an antique fair on my way to work this morning. I got a small James Swan draw knife, and a DR Barton draw knife. Both are a little rough but the edges are in good shape and sharp. I also picked up a Best padlock for my rustic tool shed camper. I got all three pieces for $19

Yesterday I picked up these two Case XX knives for $35. Both of them are in excellent condition. The brown handled knife doesn't look like its ever been used.
