It followed me home (Part 2)

No pics but yesterday I was gifted a welded up Oshkosh peavey head sans handle and point. It was pretty cracked up when my neighbor got it. He welded up the cracks from the inside so he wouldn't obscure the lettering which is why it still looks cracked, even though it isn't. I've been making a handle for it but it doesn't have pinning holes on it so how do I secure it? Also, where can I get a point for it. Columbus McKinnon's site no longer has them.

I know that I am going to hear screams from the west coast, but this lot cost me $100. $50 of that was the anvil. This guy advertised a bunch of handles for $25, turns out he had axes too.

No screaming here.

Now, if guys coveted swamping and peeling patterns as much as those big grin Connies and svelt Maine patterns then the tables might turn lol.

I still get excited if I find rafting patterns or big saws with most their teeth.

I do enjoy and seek those swampers, and am oh so looking forward to my first rafting pattern, hardened pole beauty.

No screams, but always lots of exciting anticipation for just the same. Big straight saws with their teeth.

Well said AgentH

Always great treasure hunting JB.
My eyes zero right on that beautiful grey weathered nob beauty just about dead center.

Any conversation about that is worth having sir.

Both of these followed me home. The small oak plank is 3 3/4" by 1' by 7' and the large one is 3 3/4" by 18" by 9' approx. Also, one pic of the peavey. More pics will come in a couple of days.

That looks just like the OSH peavey that I found and posted a few pages back. Oshkosh tools is still in business, and they do sell replacement handles/points/hooks for their peaveys and cant hooks!

That rusty one in the center. Doesn't look like it's hung right (maybe been shortened - old broken handle?). But that fawns foot is to die for. Close ups of that with dimensions would be nice.
