It followed me home (Part 2)

That's awesome...definitely a keeper like you said. It's hard to tell from the pics, but is the adze blade curved for bowls, or straight for general uses?

Yeah...maybe the intention is for very large bins/bowls or troughs. It seems a bit small for large pieces, but it's awesome either way.

I saw the curve but didn't consider the amount of curve. I honestly don't know enough about such things to say.

I got this for $1 today, and it's nearly full. Some day's it's the little things that make you happy.

You got your money's worth just with that old Warren sledge. I love all that old Warren stuff.

I thought this 6# one from my grandfather said "Warren Feed", but now I wonder. Seems like a knapping hammer shape, but gets used for all sorts of things, on a short handle I made out of some bush honeysuckle 8 or ten years ago (didn't have time to go to town at the time and it seemed/seems to work fine :)):

WARREN-TEED was a trademark of the Warren Tool Corp. of Howland, Ohio (not the same as Warren Axe & Tool of Warren, PA).

I'm almost certain that's it, based on your picture and the one in SCT100's haul. I can't get a good picture (just tried) and its worn, but it looks like

"Warren[-?T?]eed
6"

Good enough for me. Thanks to you, SqPeg, and SCT! Maybe I'll put a decent handle on it when this one wears out.

Pegs, do you think my hammer is simple sledge or was it sold as something else? The shape is somewhat different!

It looks like a napping (or knapping) hammer, but most these days just use it as a regular sledge.

These came home with me over the last month or so. A True Temper Kelly perfect double bit head, a Craftsman hewing hatchet with the sing-song stamp head. 3 Bluegrass single bits, and 2 good files, a 14" Wards Master Quality, and a made in USA Nicholson axe file.

Some fine looking tools there. That Craftsman looks mighty fresh, I like it. Can we get a close up pic of that one?

Thanks! I'll see if I can get a better pic of the Craftsman with my crappy camera.

Not a sharp photo by any means, but a little closer shot, and yes the head is in fine shape given its age.

On one hand I didn't really get what I was after today, on the other hand I was able to get a lifetime supply of sandpaper, other supplies and a few tools for nothing. This lady was just trying to clean out a house and was happy not to have to take all this to the dump.

This was today's haul, including a tote full of 69 NOS hammer handles of various sizes. $190 for everything on the table. ($70 for the handles, $120 for everything else)
