Start with a Vic SAK that has a saw, many different models to choose from. Corrosion resistance is at the top and utility is off the charts indoors and outdoors.
Even without sharpening touch up, you can spend weeks doing various outdoorsman tasks with sub $80 folders that have less edge retention than D2, S30V, etc. With gear to touch up and sharpen as necessary Victorinox X55, Cold Steel and Ontario AUS8, and even Chinese "440 stainless" can usually manage.
Edge retention is focused on most because very little actual improvements are made in knives each year...it's the easiest thing to create seperation and distinction. Oddly enough it's the easiest thing to influence at home or in the field with a minute or two touch up on a stick or stone. A lot harder to touch up ergonomics, thicken liners, thin crappy blade geometry, etc.
