It is 1958 All over again, with no Classic Cars...son of a..

I fear it happening too. So far, there has been no talk that I have heard about on the subject of changing the knife laws. Given the publicity stabbing have had in the last year I am surprised it hasn't been brought up. I think a lot of people in this state do not realize how lenient the current laws are. A lot people who see my fixed blades and larger folders are amazed to find they are not illegal. And trying to get this consumer protection gun stuff undone is why I now vote libertarian. I think they have a better chance than the Republicans in this state.

That's easy...I carry two folders regardless of Fixed Blade Carry anyway. There are certain situations where you could be pinned and a Folder would be more accessible. Also, I like the fact that wherever your hands fall, there is something only a few inches away on either side.

That is precisely why, further, ignoring the Tactical Side of things, because I want to.

You just cast some valuable illumination on the absurdity of knife laws. If you can carry a FIXED BLADE, then why on EARTH should a Switchblade or any device like that, or any device that opens the knife as it being withdrawn, why should any of those things be banned?

The reason alot of States ban concealed fixed blades is because they are "ready to use."

Same argument against the Switchblade and Gravity Knife, then the Balisong, yada yada yada.

Pure, blind, idiotic emotionalism parading as crime solutions.

Not from YOU, but from those that write laws.

Actually I carry a fixed and two folders most days. As for being able to reach your fixed blade, I have carried three at once on occasion. One small of back, one horizontal left side and a high vertical on the right.

Used to carry a Al Mar MAC V SOG butt down under my left arm amd a Buck 110 on my belt at the right. Most carry laws are stupid to barely enforceable.

Fortunately I'm in Colorado. It's fairly lax on knife laws. At worst we'll be 7-10 years late on getting everything but toothpicks outlawed. But even that's questionable. You know, toothpicks should put out eyes pretty well, I might have to start carrying one in a quickdraw sheath.

Oregonians might groan, but maybe Oregon is the place for me and my family to re-settle.

Let's see, Balisongs and Autos are at least legal to buy, own, in the home, etc., if not carry in some cases...

They have Concealed Carry...well, well, well...

Jim Keating and Kelly Worden are both in the same general part of the country, that's a plus for me personally...Chuck Gollnick is saying that the Eugene Knife Show is larger than Blade...

Beautiful country...liberals, but for some reason, they are not acting like liberals usually do...

Food for thought...

This place sure is the pits.

Don- The Pacific Northwest is nice country, been trying to find a good job in that region. It's a little wet 'round Seattle but inland areas are drier.

However, Since there's been a rush of Californian's migrating northward; infectious stupidity may get pass the border fruit inspectors.

Seth,

That's very true and I have said that many times. However, there appears to be no alternative left to get away from the Sturm und Drang und der Polizei.

I never understood the knife ban mentality. I mean here in WA state, I am licensed to carry a CONCEALED HANDGUN for crying out loud and they're worried about whether my knife is too big, too loose, has a wave, blah, blah, blah...................

So let me get this straight, Mr. Legislator, you will allow me to carry my Beretta 92FS with 18 rounds in the gun, 2 15 rd. reloads, AND a Taurus 85 5-shot .38 with two reloads, but I can't carry a butterfly knife or an automatic? WTF???

I can do alot more damage in a hurry with a 18 shot 9mm than with ANY knife. Liberal logic is an oxymoron, and the legislators are just Morons. I think if you are licensed to carry concealed, you shoud be able to carry ANYTHING. In fact, it was just this logic that caused WA State to change the name of their permit from Concealed Weapons Permit to Concealed Pistol License, thereby limiting it to handguns only.

I am with you on that Brigadier, I can carry my USP with 13 rounds in it and my USP compact with twelve plucs how every many mags I want but I can't pack a stiff kiss under my shirt or any fixed blade concealed. I talked with lawyers, and leo and nobody can agree with anyone on bladelength. In Nevada's Revised Statutes there is no mention of fixed blades, but all the cops I talk with think they are illegal. Most if not all of the laws passed on this subject were put in before I was born, let alone old enough to vote. This is like the venting thread.

Firearms!? Oh my God!!

Personally, I prefer to carry "Beanie Babies". Nothing takes those bad days away like a cute, cuddly plush "figure".

I am starting my own island nation. It will be founded on individual rights and a strict constitution which limits encroachment on these rights.

Um, anyone have an unclaimed island that they would like to donate to this worthy effort?
