It looks like I got scr..ed for the second time

I realize I could be perceived as STOOOPID, but reassured myself when I saw that swong13 posted while I was typing my post. Sheesh, relief!

I missed something here, re the jump to Robert E Carr. I've been believing that RSB were our joker's initials. Could someone please enlighten me here? I'd appreciate it. Haven't done anything like this in over 2 years and would like to follow it a bit further.

Ran searches in this forum and individual sales and found no R E Carrs. Please clue me in.

Bugs

Well bugs, there is a Robert E. Carr that lives at that address. He also is listed as Robert Balser in some searches. We arent exactly sure what his REAL name is. If youre reading this before i edit it, i will post a search that i ran to show this (actually i did a bunch...I got both Balser and Carr...I thought that he might be listed as Carr in the KC phone book so I suggested it.) Edit pending. NW

Ok... copy this number 913-599-3873 Now go to this link and put it in the middle search http://4cellphones.4anything.com/network-frame/0,1855,2208-70473,00.html
Whatever the fact, weve found the guy and Ive given the buyers enough info, so the question is...whats gonna be done? How about Shawn Evans...is that name in the KC directory? I want to see something done to get this resolved. I cant do anything else...perhaps you guys in KS or MO could take it from here. Any organization you could report him to? Someone should go visit the bum and politely (?) request the foresaid knives (no j/k...that might not be the best of ideas...anyone up for a good ol fashioned egging? LOL) OH and bugs, its a LONG story on how i found that name, and all his numbers. NW

Hi guys,

I gave the guy with number 913-599-3873 a call at 1:30 am this morning and got an answering machine so I left a message for "Rob" wether it be E. Carr of Balser.
I just hope that this is the right guy as my initial addres where I sent my money to:

Rob .....
9104 Bell Road # 325
Lenexa, KS 66219

I'm confused by Lenexa versus SHAWNEE MISSION that everybody seems to find with the 9104 Bell Road #325 street/house number.

Well except from me calling or sending emails to Rob there's no action I can think of that can be done from where I live, besides off course the VOODOO doll suggestion
wink.gif

I just hope that he'll see the light and sends me the knife.

On the other side I've been thinking is it possible for me to send the Police in Lenexa? an email and explain what happened to me and ask if they could "investigate" it further??

I have his email where he confirmed having received the money, he must have signed for the registered mail and a second email appologizing for having "forgotten" to send me the knife. I'm really starting to get p.ss.d off
frown.gif
at the moment because because it looks like there's not mutch that can be done further.

OK guys... Both knives are shipped, and were shipped before this thread even begun.
Either way - Your right, the wait has been far too long, and for that I can only apologize.

An example of my new daily routine is semi-evident in the fact that it is now about 1pm CST and I just got home (for the first time in 2 days)... and I will leave again around 7 or 8 am again. I no longer even have the time to read the forums anymore
frown.gif
and would not have known about this GBU thread if someone had not told me about it.

Piet, Steven - I feel badly about the delays... But rest assured, you have not been E-screwed. Both knives should arrive shortly via USPS.

I forgot something -

I have no idea who Rober Carr is at that 599 number...

Lenexa and Shawnee seem to use the same (massive) post office, which is roughly 10 or 15 miles from my home... go figure.

Interesting, when you look up that phone number and reverse list it, apparently you have the name Robert Carr, in more than one directory living at that address. And you better find out who shawn evans is, cause they live in your house too. Dont know whats going on, dont care... as long as this is overwith. NW

Humm.. dont know either of them.
First, this is a huge apartment complex, and if you look under just "9104 Bell Rd" you'll be looking at 50-100 people in 50 or so individual apartments in this building alone as we all are "9104 Bell".

The actual complete address is:
9104 Bell Rd. apt 325
Whatever turns up from that is anyones guess... and remember, the internet is only right about 1/2 of the time when it comes to these types of searches.
Either way, I'm the only male that lives here.

And anyway... The number in question here is a cell phone - which would have no address attached to it in the first place

For the record:
Name: Rob Balser
(I edited out the overly-personal info since those who needed to see it have done so.)
First Business name: RSBSales.com
Second Business Name: Ambushdesign.com

Details:
My Web design and knife sales business started life as RSBSales, the web design side grew.. the knife sales didnt, so I dumped the knife thing (for the most part) and continued with web design.
I linked the RSBsales domain (web section) to the Ambush domain, each having its own web space. This allows those who find RSBSales web services via a search engine to find their way on to Ambush. (mess with Yahoo, you'll understand then)
You'll also notice that robbalser.com redirects to ambushdesign.com as well.

I will resume the web design business shortly, when time allows.

Hi guys and Dashunde,

If the above is all correct I will without hesitation publicly appologize for the whole post.

I still have some reservations as the Cell number I called that is listed on the Ambush Design website was answered by someone (You I suppose?) that denied knowing my name and that I was waiting for my Military and secondly that he didn't know about Ambush Design website.

I will however inform my friend that a knife should be arriving shortly
smile.gif
.

Dashunde, I'm also very busy but still find the time to write/answer important emails if that needs to be done.

I will see what arrives in San Diego, for now I'm glad that you seem to keep your part of the deal I'll come back on my post when San Diego tells me the Military has arrived.

Best scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Dashunde-

Could we get details on when and how the knives were shipped? I just want to try and determine a reasonable time frame for when I can expect my knife to arrive.

And while waiting for the arrival of my knife I just want to thank all of the forum members that have expressed concern as well as putting time and effort into trying to make this deal happen. I had originally resigned myself to having lost some money and I just wanted to post a warning to try and save anyone else from having the same problem. Instead, it looks like my knife is on the way and I have been overwhelmed by the response of this forum. You guys acted like a member of your own family had been cheated. Simply amazing!

Steven,

I fully stand behind your words, the BF members really for a familly and I greatly appreciate the support I received from a lot of them and the "search" work they did.

I feel proud to be part of the big BF familly.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland, I'm off to an evening club meeting,

Bagheera,

I'm glad this looks like it will end up ok for you and your friend. I know my deal with you was great and I hope you have equal success ahead.

Steven, Piet -
Both knives went in the mail either Tuesday or Wednesday morning... I honestly don't remember which, but my guess is Wednesday right before I left town. (The past few days have been a bit of a blur.)
They both went USPS 2-3 day, signature required.
If I were to take a guess... I would say they might have shown up in today's mail, but it might be Saturday or Monday.... hard to tell with the USPS, they are sort of hit-and-miss in the predictability department.

Piet, are you certain that you actually dialed the cell phone number correctly?
I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but I wonder this because the number on the site is correct and I got the message (a polite one even) from Dawkind as well as the message you (Piet) left in my voicemail (a different call I presume).
With all that said I simply can not recall any conversation with you.
I am especially curious about this because I hardly ever answer that phone if I don't recognize the caller ID number, and I would not have recognized your number - thus I would not have answered it... I would have waited to hear the message left in the voicemail instead of answering an "unknown" caller in the middle of a meeting etc...
The only other explanation is the possibility that my 17 year old brother answered it while I was away, and he simply had no idea what you were talking about.
(My brother stops by to take care of my dog while I'm away or working long hours, he also hangs around and messes with everything if given the chance
smile.gif
)

Hi Rob,

The number I dialed was exactly the ame as on the website, so it must have been somebody else (your brother?).
Rob it doesn't matter as long as Steven and I see our knives arriving safely
smile.gif
I will immediately let you know by email when it has.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

THanks for the explanation, Northwind. I appreciate it. Believe I ran a reverse on the address with the #325 which produced nothing, but didn't push it because of my belief was an apartment house, and could get numerous hits.

Can't beleive I didn't try Balser on 1-blink. I'll try it now and see if I get the balser.com.

Such searches are difficult whenever a subject has one or more private little businesses, but no real estate other than their abode. In the workers comp business, where I was an investigator for 13 years or so, it is awfully common to find folks who make it difficult to be found, and especially difficult if they have a business and are cheating the system. And, as I said, am rusty, and my memory resembles very holey Swiss cheese.

Am very glad that it appears everything is going to come out ok. Very interesting to me that a lurker or forumite could have interjected something factual that could have provided some reassurance, but chose not to do so, and just went to Dashunde. Guess just a very loyal friend, who's not worried much about folks he/she doesn't know.

Bugs

Yah bugs, it wasnt a complete explanation, but whatever. I obtained the original info from doing an IP trace on the ambushdesign site. Its a neat little tool. You can download a trial version. I think the site is www.Neotrace.com otherwise there is a link to it from www.ernieshouseofwhoopass.com I think its under usefull stuff or neat stuff on the left hand side. It can follow hte route to your comp and to a website, find out who owns it and thier "administrative" contact info. Thats how i really did it then used that info for other searches, which were apparently incorrect info. NW

My Kershaw Avalance arrived this afternoon. The old saying is correct: Late is WAY better than never. Rob: thanks for getting this transaction completed. Piet: Hope your Military arrived in San Diego today. Forum members that posted: Thanks again for your time, effort and concern.
