is it just me but has anyone noticed a unusual amount of people who email with ridiculus lowball offers when the item offered is a steal in the first place, the bay is looking more inviting

Dude, times are tough, toy funds tight. I politely say yes or decline, that's about all its worth.
People are always going to try to get a bargain,it is human nature, weak or strong, however they approach.
Low ball offers are better than no offers. You are in charge of who you sell to & for how much.
Don't get frustrated.

This guy sums it up nicely. I make low offers occasionally, for two (good) reasons: if I can pay less, why pay more? And: I'm mostly broke.

Just wait for a good offer, and decline every other offer. Just be careful not to insult someone.

I get that most times I post something. I've got offers of $5 shipped on knives I've had listed as low as $10 or $15.

I've also got several emails along the lines of "Hi, I'd like a sheath from you but don't think I should pay (that much) for it, can you just send me one (sell me one for $5 or $10). There are those who make reasonable offers on things and then there are those that just wanna see if they can pull one over on ya.

Whenever I sell something I get quite a few people who contact me to let me know that they want it but can't meet my asking price. They generally go into an explanation as to why they don't have enough money (sick family members and the like) and then make an offer that is fifty to sixty percent of what I'm seeking.

Lowball offers are pretty common...I just decline and wait for my price which is typically at the low end already of the market for that knife in that condition.

What I don't appreciate though is when I have a knife up for trade and a member contacts me with a knife trade offer...and when I say "OK, I'll swap for that" and they THEN reply back, "Of course, you'll have to add some cash to even it out."

LOL

If you expect a cash equalizer say so when you offer your knife for trade...not later on.

End of rant...:D
