The latest from Shadetree Laboratories

White canvas and metal mesh cloth. We can and will do this in any color.

But it still needs a name. What should we call this new pattern?

Let us know what you think.

Thanks!

If it was more white I would say snowstorm or blizzard. Due to the more grey hue to it in the pictures, how about dust storm? These names kind of fit into the standard with the lightning strike, thunderstorm etc. I think tornado would work too.

Square Wave Arc Transformation Rectifying Transistor Laced Matrix Analysis Dimension Warp Inhibitor.

To be serious, I am no good with names, but I'd just like to say that is a very cool looking material.

Cagecarta does sound fairly cool plus with the way the material looks I could see that. Grayzer86 has a good point, you can always put some sort of weather in front of the word micarta and that could give you your name.

Ever since I saw Lighting Strike material I've been thinking of trying something similar to what you've done there. How easy/hard is it to work with the difference in laminate material hardness? Do you have any issues with the metal, especially wire ends, becoming proud?

I like cagecarta, it works for all colors.

Thanks everyone, keep em coming we appreciate it.

I kinda like that idea. . .

Not as bad as I've seen with the LSCF. We used aluminum so it is much softer and easier to work with than the stainless wires in the LSCF. With the knife above we had no issues with proud wires.

this was a test. . . It worked well, so stand by for some with tomato red linen like burlap as well as some carbon fiber

Borg micarta?

I like just "Matrix"
Then as you do different colors you can have "Black Matrix,Blue Matrix" and so on.

Maybe along the screen door theme you could do a layer of bugs, followed by a layer of screen.
Just teasing but it would probably sell.

I believe composite craft, the makers of c-tek already have a product called matrix. It's like a metal open cell foam almost filled with resin.
