I believe composite craft, the makers of c-tek already have a product called matrix. It's like a metal open cell foam almost filled with resin.

To avoid IP issues, but keeping the Matrix theme, how about "Andersons glitch" or "Sentinel"?

On a side note they make a thick heavy use black vinyl screen that might look very cool with the white canvas, give it a little more contrast

Reminds me of reinforced concrete. Anyhow... I would say something like steel reinforced micarta lacks the buzzwordiness but would sound good in a knife description. "Elmax blade with steel reinforced micarta scales and stainless pins"
