Italian Khukri- Made in Texas!

That's beautiful work Doc. I love how all the screws are aligned. Very nicely done.

I think a 3 square file is a triangle file ain't it? Used to work in a tool warehouse and knew my stuff, sadly I've forgotten most of it.

Kamidog, I thought of this when I had to cut out pizza last night with a piece of junk store bought cutter. "Junk".

Getting through the pizza bone I had to whip out the bowie. Weren't so bad, I love whippin out the bowie.

I predict your industrial version won't have any issues in this department.

Just when you think it is safe to go back into the water. Bookie adds a picture like that!!!

Heck with it. don't need no stinking shark's teeth for this one!!!

EMS on Incredibly beautiful front-stuffer!!

 :D  :D  :D

Nope. I think ill be able to snap chop right through them bones!

Im thinking he meant no.3 square file. I was thinking triangle at first as well? Docs way up there on another level than us peasants;) He mentioned four in one in a previous post but I eventually figured that one out after hours of file surfing.

By the way Doc. I bet that hinge was fun to make:thumbup:

Great job buddy, ya got yourself some mad skillz, just like quite a few of the guys around these parts.

Just to save me hours of web surfing, is the four in one, the one with a flat fine and course on one side and a half round fine and course on the other. We called em something else in the tool business.

I think Doc might have gotten the slang name from Stonewall Jackson maybe at Manasas.

Kamidog. Good to see you get out and experiment. Keep it up, you'll get there. If you are going to tarnish brass quickly, use egg yolk. It's a "standard" practice for newer builders of muzzle loaders. If you want to make an engraving tool, use an old 3 square file. I can show you how to grind the tip on it. Then all you need is a 1/2 pound ball peen. Then you can try your hand at something like this.

I keep coming back for another look at this. It's absolutely incredible on so many levels. The inlay, the engraving, the screws, and as kamidog mentioned the hinge alone has to be 4 or 5 bottles of advil.
The angle has to be dead perfect to function properly.

My hats off to ya Doc. We're not even on the same planet in the skills department and I thank you for sharing the air on this planet with the likes of me.

PS- please put my doll back in the drawer.

Kamidog, just smear the yolk on the brass. The acids do the rest. Play with it until you see what shade of yuck you like. A three square file is a triangular file. I use one or two for engraving along with my store boughts. Making a graver is easy, but the hard part is sharpening it. An excellent tool to make a graver out of is an 1/8" square, or smaller, blank carbide lath bit. Inexpensive like the old file and lasts forever.

Nanner, nanner, nanner, I knew a 3 square file was a triangle.

I ain't totally dumb. Very very close but still just a smidgen of smarts.

Made a couple pizzas tonight and I was wishin' I had a Texan Nepali Italian Khukuri to cut it up

OK buddy start splainin that thing! That looks freekin great! I love to make them without the tomato sauce. Just oil the crust down with xtrav olive and throw the ingredients on it and bake. Makin me hungry man!
I finished the Pizza cutter today. Ill update shortly! My wife saw your pizza and I might have to take her out now. Thanks phillllll;) Mmmm damn that looks good!!

Top one has red sauce, sauteed shrooms and garlic, diced onion, and sundried tomato. Bottom one is a white pie with pesto mixed into the ricotta. Mozzarella on top of both. Both hand tossed.

both hand tossed and both delicious looking. One of my favorites is just olive oil and garlic cloves with a drizzled layer of gorgonzola sauce and nothing else. YUMMY!! agree with NDog that made me hungry!

I always hated the tomato sauce or paste they slather on, love kamidogs idea of just oiling. Put tomato's on the pizza but hold the red sauce.

I see lots of folks that order extra sauce and dip their pizza in it. I must be a little off or something.

I do like the stamps you made and the very neatly executed design. Well done, lad.

Thanks doc! Im going to call this project done and let the inscriptions age naturally and see how it goes. I hoped they would show up with a bit more contrast but time will tell.

I went ahead and hammered out the disk and peened the edge on it too match the rest of the parts. It says KamiDog(khukhura Kami) (कुकुर कामी) on one side
and Julie(जुली) on the other. Thats my wife btw. Its hers now. Of course it had to have a cho and sword of shiva:D

Im hoping as it ages it will show the inscriptions better. I tried everything I could find on the interdnet and then some but ended up polishing it out and leave it be. Time will tell. Maybe. Looks better in person.

The wood has darkened up a bit with all the mineral oil treatments so i may put a coat of wax on it soon and call it sealed.

Looks awesome. Just showed a buddy and he was impressed too. Do you deliver to Austin?

Nice touches with the cho and sword of Shiva. I'm impressed with all these projects of yours (alongside the growing dog pack).

I'm thinking that the copper tarnish might not be food safe, so it may be a good idea to keep it from getting green.

Finally able to see it in all its glory! Nice job ndog.
My only concern is the same as Steves. I'm not sure how food safe copper would be. If it were me I'd have used steel and brass.
