Italy Wins!!!!!!

No,majority of them were definetely not born in France but in Africa or elsewhere (like Trezegue or whatever is his surname spelled)...they were imported to france. And even if they were born in France they are not really french (like Zidane for example)...and the past events (burning cars, riots in muslim parts of france) etc have proven that. There were only two or three active (out of ten) ethnic french players, one was the goalkeeper (Barthez) and the other two were either Ribery and/or Sagnol. West India or whatever is definetely not France.

We obviously don't have the same common sense of what is a nationality. "not really french" "ethnic french player" don"t have any signification here, you are, or not, french. The place where you are born doesn't define your nationality. France is a melting pot and a republic which doesn't recognize the idea of communautarism. There is no french "pure ethny". I know the history of my country, you can believe me. I know the geography too: West India is a part of France, never say to a West Indian he isn't french, you would get somes troubles.

Well, I did a google search of "West Indian" and this is one of the links that I found:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Indies

It seems that only a small portion of the West Indies is French.

allenC,

You are right, in french, to make short we say:" les Antilles" when we should say: "les Antilles francaises" and i translated the short version. Somes french soccer players come from the Guadeloupe island, the main island of the french West Indies. And by the way they are french.

Thanks.

In this world cup Italy excelled in the art of winning ugly. The Squadra Azzurra did not only win the World Championship this way but also came out on top as the team with the most dives (40). In the IBI Foul PLay Index Italy finished second and was only beaten by Paraguay:

With Materazzi they probably call the most brutal player their own:

It's debatable what game Materazzi plays but it sure isn't soccer.

Last but not least the world's leading expert in Muy Thai elbow strikes also "plays" for Italy. Just ask Brian McBride from the US Team. De Rossi's intentional elbow strike left the striker needing three stitches under his eye. Watch De Rossi complaining after he is sent off at the end of the first half:

They say the only thing that counts in soccer is the final score but to me playing fair has its own merits. I didn't see a lot of that from the Squadra Azzurra.

So if there's proof of Materazzi making racists comments before the headbutt occured, Italy will be disqualified, losing the title.

Any thing can happens but Italy will be disqualified, losing the title is just a dream :foot: racists comments or not;)

I doubt that they'll be able to prove it, but if they do, the FIFA regulation I quoted above doesn't seem to leave any room for speculation.
