It's 1978, Dump your pockets.

1978-I was 25 and working in Isfahan Iran for Bell Helicopter on a defense contract. Buck 110 on my belt. Comb and bandana in back pockets. Zippo lighter, bowl and a big chunk o hash in the left front. Pack of Marlboro Reds in my shirt pocket. Keys to a Citroen jeep in my right front.--KV

Back then I was carrying a small lockback folder- a Gerber LST that I still have. I was also of course carrying car keys and maybe a little bit of change. Probably nothing else.

Went into the Marine Corps in May 1978 -- before and after basic training, I carried a set of aluminum alloy brass knuckles in my back pocket, Buck lockblade in my front pocket, Gerber Mark II in my boot, car keys to my 1969 GTX or later my 1973 Z/28. M1 carbine in the trunk.

If I thought there was going to be trouble, I slipped a Colt Commander .45 in the other boot.

I always wondered who had this gerber m2 I bought. the belt portion of the sheath was cut off. I figured he must have carried it in waistband concealed.
