to get here early on Friday and watch the numbers of members viewing this forum grow as the anticipation builds. I can't afford anything right now, so I am obviously somewhat masochistic...but it's always a treat to see what Andy comes up with.

It's hard to resist once I started seeing all the great craftsmanship on display every Friday. I'm checking in from the bus heading into Manhattan for work.

I'm hooked. I stumbled onto Fiddleback Friday about two months ago and look forward to Friday morning every week.
Recluse and Hunter have the collection started.

I'm in the same boat!! Every Friday morning, I'm online awaiting the Fiddlebacks. Bushcrafter and Hiking Buddy have my collection started!

Until today, I've been available most Fridays. This morning however, I've scheduled myself for a job. So, on a day when I'm actually considering a model I've been waiting for, I'll probably miss the boat. Go figure. Darn you Brian! All those recent threads of your old Bushfinger and all the talk about the Kepharts have me wanting another. Look what it's done! ;-).
Or, maybe I'll check in at just the right time and get lucky.

Andy is an enigmatic knife maker. I have a Bushfinger I've had for years that does most all of what I need to do with a knife, and I have a Hunter that will handle larger tasks. I had a Hiking Buddy that my wife fell in love with, so now I do want to pick up another in the future. I don't really need any more knives...but I am still wanting one of the new Kepharts, and still wanting one of his Recluses. It's funny, but with some knife companies, and yes I am a knife nut it seems, I have to look through many designs to find the few I like. With Andy I'm hard pressed to find a design I don't love....

Hey, sorry man :) . BUT timing is everything and you just may get lucky on the day you least expect it. Hell, I'm checking in knowing damned well that it doesn't matter what he comes up with I can't afford it right now. It's like a friggin train wreck, I don't want to look...I just can't help it...

Even if you're not going to pick one up this time its still fun to window shop.

I know what you mean! Right now, I'm selling other knives to make room for Fiddleback purchases!

Yeah...it's the fun sort of torture lol.

Yeah, I have been going through mine with the same thoughts. The only problem is that the only ones I could sell that would likely bring money this time of year are knives that were grails for me...and I still keep thinking about it...

When I got here there were only a couple. Now we are at 26. Should be time for Andy to pop in pretty soon :)

If you miss the one you really want just lie to yourself and pretend Andy was practicing to make an even better one for you haha

Yeah...been there, done that. Even worse I missed the better one that came after lol. Some of the ones I missed while I was out of state broke my heart when I had a chance to look back through eight weeks of batches. BUT he does just keep getting better so I just keep telling myself that and I know that the magical timing will pop up again :) I have earlier work, and middle work...now I need midle, middle, middle, middle, and later, and later work :)

I hear ya. I can't afford anything right now, especially since I found out just yesterday that I have a herniated disc (draggin that deer solo) and I'm off work for a while. But that won't stop me from checkin in on Fridays and admiring what's new.

We can fool ourselves about window shopping all we want -- for me it's a dangerous game. It isn't willpower I lack, boys...it's won'tpower! This is how window shopping Fiddleback Friday works for me: "just a quick peek to see if they're posted yet. No need to buy and no money. Hey that's pretty. Gee, I have 40 fixed blades already. Ooh, maple! What if Andy never uses maple in that combination again? I better buy it while I can!"

Followed by my wife: "get away from the computer." Sheesh, some people just don't understand!

38 and counting, including the big guy :D

Cool then it must be about time :)

And that's it isn't it. Sometimes it's a long time before he revisits a particular combination. Then every time you see the guy who bought it post pics you start kicking yourself in the ass all over again... Yeah, my wife doesn't understand either. Though, with her favorite knife being a Fiddleback, she does understand a lot better than some I imagine...but she'll say something like "you love the Bushfinger right?" I of course say yes. Then she'll always throw in the "then why do you need another knife?" That's where her understanding utterly fails...

refresh...refresh...refresh...

LOL, yep.

That's easy Mist...just keep buying Bushfingers! I have a display case for some of my knives (about 40 of my nicer ones) in the living room...my wife is tolerant but baffled!
