It's fun...

I hear ya. I can't afford anything right now, especially since I found out just yesterday that I have a herniated disc (draggin that deer solo) and I'm off work for a while. But that won't stop me from checkin in on Fridays and admiring what's new.

Those herniated discs are nothing to play with man. I'm still dealing with the effects of one caused by an accident at work in 99, and the discectomy and fusion that followed. Eating pain pills like candy today is the only reason I have been here at the computer this long rather than out in the field. The cold makes it worse so I am waiting on it to warm up a little. Figured I'd pass the time waiting to see what Andy offers up today.

That's easy Mist...just keep buying Bushfingers! I have a display case for some of my knives (about 40 of my nicer ones) in the living room...my wife is tolerant but baffled!

Yeah, my wife doesn't understand that particular need in me anymore than I understand why she needs 5 pairs of boots, three pairs of tennis shoes, twelve pairs of dress shoes, forty pairs of pants, fifty shirts, twenty skits, a dozen dresses, four game systems, a couple thousand books, and three kindles....

Oh no, you've been down that road too? Stinker! Back trouble is a game stopper. I am trying to be positive and I hope if I keep icing it and resting smartly, the swelling will go down and the disc back in. How did your fusion go? Any after effects? My wife had a fusion years ago and she is back to running this year. She is doin great!

The fusion went fine, best thing that ever happened. It was working for a prick contractor who cut too many corners a few years later that did it again when a scaffold collapsed and I fell 16 feet and landed on my back across the parts of the scaffold. I should have gotten out of construction after the first accident...

If you can manage it, I've found that stomach/core exercises help to stabilize the area. Every few months the lower back acts up (possibly degenerative disk disease?) and if I've been keeping my core strong it seems to reduce the pain

Ouch. But good to hear you are doing just fine.

Well, I still can't get the nat can over nat can with an orange stripe Recluse outta my head from last year. Maybe one of these days, another will turn up.

Yeah, I have mostly good days...mainly I need to lose some weight. The time spent at a desk these days is rough on me. Had to get a gym membership...

I'm sure he will revisit it eventually :)

I cannot tell you guys how grateful I am that y'all like our tools, and my work. Thank you for your support.

I had the same thought when I first read 'will be the last' comment until I remembered that our Mayan friends have predicted the end of the world will occur on 21 Dec... My daughter used this angle to ask me for a car as a birthday present - after all, it's not like you'll ever need to make a payment dad.... :) Needless to say, she got a matchbox car, not a drivable one.

Ah yes...I almost forgot. I must admit I have spent a little time hoping they're right so I can stop thinking about taking my daughters boy friend out on the lake and tying his dumb @$$ to a tree and leaving him...but in this perspective I certainly hope it isn't the last Fiddleback Friday. I have at least a couple more I want, and I'd like some time to get to use them :)

Man, I'm making a special LOTS OF WOOD batch for the last Friday ever. Kinda by coincidence, but good anyway, right?

Hey man, sounds good to me. If they're right, and we gotta go out...then ya may as well go out will style and class right :)

I just discovered this phenomena. I've mostly avoided the knifemaker forums, because every time I come in, my wallet opens. :) Anxiously awaiting tomorrow....

What time does the sale usually hit the forum? I've seen various times in the past.

Cool deal....I'll check in a little earlier than that to be sure. The anticipation is torture...
