It's like a grenade just went off

.....

One member here (Gator Medic) has a collection of about six knives. I personally find it one of the most practical and well though out collections I have ever seen.

This is very sensible. I must try and heed that. I only have 4 folders, I think all I'd like now is a smaller PM2, I'm thinking delica FFG and replace those horrid washers on the Kershaw emersons I have.

What the OP doesn't know, and I'll disclose it now is I have an embarrassingly large collection of fixed blades, most of them impulse folly buys, lol. I must try and pare that collection down.

Hey, gang....What's come over me?!?!

Doomed,

-Mike

The good thing is you've found a new purpose in life.
So Congratulations!!!
The bad thing is you better have an unlimited excess to some spare cash.
You're only doomed if you have an excessive compulsive disorder
Which leaves you with no family, friends and in a perpetual deep financial ruin.
Otherwise you're just a regular nutcase.
Welcome knifenut!
You're way in over your head...

Mike, most guys I know whether knife addicts or not like knives to some degree. I liked knives in a "normal" way for many years before I spent thousands of dollars to have hundreds of knives. You aren't doomed yet!

Well, it's past midnight, and I've had a few too many. I might be entering the danger zone, as I've just discovered the "knife exchange." I'll report back in the morning.

You made an excellent choice in the mini Ritter. I second the notion of buying a Sharpmaker and learning to use it before buying a bunch more knives. Also, look into your kitchen knives. They get more use than most people's folders do, and good kitchen sharps make cooking much more enjoyable.

Trust me on this one!

"Pot" holder, hahaha. Ok, well, I survived the night without having committed any egregious crimes to my bank account. I guess that's a check in the win column. There's always tonight, however.
