That VT Hunter is amazing btw.

And Myke, I should take a pic of our plane, it's not perfectly good! ;) Lots of motivation to jump out!
Ha ha ha,Thanks,I got a good chuckle out of that one.

i grew up on the marsh in MA. there was always legend of the "hellcats" on Plum Island. dad and i woke up one night to a lady's blood curdling scream. ran outside with a hatchet (that should work), flipped on the high beams to the backyard (which was right next to a corn field, and then the river), and we saw a large-ish cat staring at us (bigger than a german shephard...longer). he took off pretty quick.

^^
Sounds exciting! :)

Here is a zoomed in cell phone pic of a panther crossing a trail.

I'll bet your heart was beating pretty quick.
Are there big cats in MA naturally?

Cool! and, i don't know Myke. i think so. they supposedly lived in the wildlife reserve on Plum Island (great place). panthers. cougars. not sure their proper name. we just called them "swampcats" or "hellcats." but, i think they are considered extinct now...not sure. my story is from close to 25 years ago. even then, no one saw them.

I was driving down the road in the middle of no where lousiana and a huge black cat ran up to the road and ran back in the woods ahead of me. as I got closer this cat (panther if I understand correctly) came flying out and jumped before it got the road and literally landed on the other side of the 2 lane road. it was crazy. I was like wtf!! luckily I was semi ready after he ran out the first time.

Cool giveaway Myke! I'm glad I made it back in town in time to join in.

This has been my view for the last week:

Since we're talking about animals we run into while out and about, here's a little guy that greeted us while camping earlier this summer:

The little one and I out hoboing it up one winter. she stuck it out like a trooper considering it was only 17 degree's out. she had lots of fun feeding the fire and chopping with the hawks. The belt hawk from John was a favorite!
