Its my turn to join the club! Stiches inside!

I'm assuming that a military doctor did the work. Go back. If they're anything like the military doctors that worked on me they won't be able to do much, but at least a professional looked at it. That's worth something.

It will heal eventually. Be patient. If it didn't close right you'll just have a better scar afterwards. (Believe it or not, this very same thing happened to the puncture wound in my palm from the Monster Ram. I was accurate with the superglue but it opened up partially at work and the latex gloves didn't do it any favors.)

My own policy is that if it's not infected, it's not worth worrying about. Arterial bleeding or MRSA are required to scare me.

AZ, I agree with Dave on three points;
1. It will indeed heal eventually
2. Embrace your new scar, it ain't going away
3. Definitely have a doc check it out, deep cuts/punctures always pose a serious infection risk if not properly tended to. If the docs don't do anything more than hand you some antibiotic cream and some butterfly closures, use 'em.
Dead serious, if that hand gets infected, you've got a whole new set of problems to deal with. While I was at a TAA in Kuwait, a soldier got spider bit (non-venomous) on the leg (lord, here we go with the blankety blank spiders again). Soldier pulled a "John Wayne" and blew it off, infection set in, and a good sized hunk of that leg wound up getting cut out. All us 1st Sgts were then charged to go out and pound it into the troopies skulls, that if they so much as suspected they might have a problem, they'd best get a doc/medic to check it out, and that's a *&^$#@! order. :D

YES FIRST SGT! (Screams while snapping to the Position of attention)

I made an Appt with the Doc. It was a Civvie Doc, due to the Troop medical shop at our unit being CLOSED till 1pm that day for training. I would have been a perfect exersize! But NOOOOOO one answer my plaintive whimpering through the mail slot and My CO ordered me to not come back without Sutures. SO I went to the ER. Once there I started to feel SHOCKY, like a lil confused and Light headed and stuff. I was actually glad to be there by then.

It's funny that you mention that. There were some among us who had ill designs towards the duck.

speaking of safety thread... eye protection :) any of you guys use it? i have at least, polycarbonate glasses - those have stopped a fair share of things flying by, but even with wrap-around guards, stuff can find a way in. personally more so, i have goggle, and i'm going to be wearing them a LOT more i'll tell you what. oh yeah.

i'm evening thinking of a flop down face shield and/or hard-hat. especially when doing tree work. one accidental falling limb, and crunch, bad news.

i also don't neglect my shoe-wear either, boots or at least my VERY solid hiking shoes. nothing less. i SHOULD get some steel toes at least, but thems cold making in the winter. shin guards. mmm.
