It's not much...

Thank you!!
Wow that looks like it would be VERY awkward to use. The basket does not favor the grip style that would make the curved saber blade the most effective and the fact that it isn't a backsword but sharp on both sides is even more confusing LOL. I am guessing there was a reason the style is so "unique". If it had been effective I am guessing more of the style might be in museums now :D

all i know is that JW looks like he could tear a grown man in half over his head

Lol Gehazi...
Ndog, just re-heat treated this sword since it had a soft spot (courtesy of heating in a forge twenty years ago that was waaaaay too small...hence the manky pommel attachment

^that looks like an ethiopian jambiya blade.
Little something I rescued at my last gun show:

Old Visayan binangong-really nice patina on the ferrule.

that is an excellent blade, good find! I love it when you can see the quality, what is the weight like?

Hmm, didn't know the Ethiopians had an indigenous Jambiya style. The Gile looks a bit like a Jambiya I guess.

The weirdest thing about this one is that the blade is brass or bronze. You usually find those in the southern parts of Africa.

very nice, i love the belt knives of the arabic cultures--did you see those new ones that raven armory made for one of the royals over there?( he does not offer for sale or reproduction, just shows that he could make them and did-- its in the pictures of his stuff)

No I haven't seen that... can't seem to find a link. I'm surprised the royal family would buy one from a foreign company. I'd love to see it.

Wow, Blue Congratulations. I know you have been looking for one for quite a while :)
Gehazi, I definately have to look that one up. did you see it on their site? I also have not seen any references though I visit their site regularly to drool. Lately, I have been paying attention to their work recreating the 200BC Falcatta. I truely wish I could afford to order something from them. The skill and craftmanship. Oooh

Thank you. I'm very pleased with this thing. Looking forward to how it'll look after some polishing.

As if I need to tell you, but don't let your excitement rush you. It looks like there are some very fragile areas and I would hate to hear you caused the damage to get worse. Dainty and delicate work and it should become the center of attention on your wall. Going to be some re-arrangement necessary there hehe.
