BTW- I think the smoke has something to do with the prayers rising to God.
It's in Revalation, and I think in the Catholic religion the angels carried the smoke with or before prayer. Heck, I don't really know, but it has something to do with religion.

Then some send it and not prayers, so I guess it can also mean, "wishing the best for you"...or something close.

It doesn't mean there going out to smoke one in your honor like someone told me once:D



Edit- just Googled "smoke and prayers sent", I was close. But also think many use it today that are not religious but wish to send there best wish'es.

Well, the secret is out. Yes, this is the "smoke" referred to here.

It all began thousands of years ago (and possibly even earlier), when primitive ritual leaders decided that one's prayers and exhortations could be carried to the gods on a waft of smoke. From there, it worked its way into many old religions and down through time to such "modern" religions as Buddhism (and its Tibetan and Nepali off-shoots).

Ah yes, I remember those colorful evenings in early Mesopotamia, watching the prayers rising into the sunset ... the days of my distant youth.

I think it's pretty obvious how all this got into the US military and particularly the USAF. ;)
