Found a show on Amazon Prime called "In the Line of Duty" first episode was a class of Marines going through the Mountain Warfare Training School, looked like a hell of a time, but pretty fun too.. I would never make the physical requirements like 5 mile forced march with full gear at over 9000 feet, but rough it camping in snow with only a rabbit to eat looked like fun :)
Hats off to the guys and girl that made it through..

WW..you've got a little sumpm sumpm in your mailbox from me today. I'll have to admit I'm pumped to get the knife. :D

I got it man, thank you very much!! I will have your box out in the morning for you!!

or...what we used to say (and still do): if it ain't broke.....don't break it!

I also got the box from you as well :D Thank you so very much bro!! The etching setup is sweet man, you made this really really easy on me :D I greatly appreciate it bud!! Hopefully i can get some time this evening to play with it some :)

And your box is also ready to go and will go out first thing in the morning with Trade's !!

I remember you talking about getting her into a better school for her. Thats very cool. I understand on all the work that has to be done to get them in. My wife and I send our daughter, and soon son to a fairly exclusive school through the college we attend and it was a lot of work to get them in. BUT the return has been in spades. I would happily pay 10X as much as we do. The teachers are absolutely amazing and she has grown so much since she has been attending and as a plus she loves it... Excited for yah bud.

Thanks man!! And stories like yours is the reason im so hopeful we can get her in. The school she is in now is not very good.... But the private one excellent, we know people with kids already going there... Only problem is its quite expensive, so hopefully the financial aid gets approved to cover as much as possible.

Went out gun shopping today. Pretty much cam up with bumpkis but there were a few shops that are closed Mondays (go figure) and one that was closed this week for some reason. It's a smaller shop so the owner probably doesn't have anyone to cover for him. Did find out the Rossi does make (or did) something that would be perfect for what I had in mind a matched youth set in .22lr/.44mag/20ga. The don't list it on their website but it's in the 2013 catalog so I'mm gonna see if one of the shops can order one for me. Might order a Rossi Matched Pair pistol too.

Yah I understand that. I am sure everything will pan out for yall! Its definitely a worthwhile investment. I am not one of those "I send my child to the best school in the state" kind of snooty parents, but we chose to live where we do so that our children would have as many opportunities as possible. To me their education is one of the most important things as I can tell you understand

hoss, check out Davidsons. Any shop that's a distributor will show up on there when you click for a quote. I'm not sure if it's true everywhere, but my local shops are pretty consistent in price between that and walking in and asking for an order.

If the Rossi is for a kid, I would test it out with the 20 gauge before handing it over. My buddy has one of the 22/20 combos and it's brutal with the shotgun config.

Need to get one of those Chiappa Tripple Threat 12 gauges.... get two, convert to pistols, make cowboy/bandlero holsters, and well.... you probably can fill in the blanks lol maybe some bk9 bayo's to go with? :D

Went ahead and gave etching a try. I practiced on an ontario RD4, which is basically my test/practice/experiment knife. For a first attempt im happy with the results. I taped around the stencil and taped off the edge. I had to cut off the very bottom of south america because it ran on to the edge of the blade. And In person you can see that its lighter in a couple areas, but not by much, next time i will darken a little longer. I wasnt sure which to do first so i etched then darkened... It actually came out pretty good i think.

Got a couple more knives to practice on, but im going to make a quick and easy stencil myself for that so i dont waste the logo stencils. Ill prolly have to find some more steel to practice etching on too. I like it :D

Thanks again Mike for the sweet etching kit!!! and thanks JD for the stencils!! I may need to talk to you about buying some more of these when i run out if thats a possibility.

That poor poor RD 4 ...lol, The Stenciling looks good though.

Yah thats a pretty cool looking etch... but that knife looks like it has seen better days LOL!

Those are just character marks :)

LMAO, Yea that RD4 has been through hell!!! Its the knife i used to baton my old leatherman apart, its also chopped through some brick and nails. Anytime i want to do something "stupid" with a knife i grab it :D

5 min on a grinder and it would look good as new! I love "well used" knives. I don't feel guilty practicing any of my skills on them and love to make them shiny again!
