Taking a ferry ride out to hike Cumberland Island tomorrow. There are wild horses there and we are pumped. One more paddle trip in the tidal flats Thursday then heading home. Talk about dragging out a trip to the Blade show. :D
 
Got a new toy, a BM bedlam. Its pretty sweet :D

I got the worst sun burn in memory on Cumberland Island.
Man, it hurts now just thinking about it.

don't do this:

woke up at 3am last night in pain. bad sciatica flare up. fortunately, it decided to do this when i was home from Blade. while there, i was getting twinges, and being pro-active about it, but well, bodies suck.

went to kitchen, decided ibuprofen wasn't enough, and was looking for the "back medicine" - various brand name, but basically it's just Magnesium Salicylate in some form. good stuff. usually works for back spasms.

pulled down a box on a high shelf... then suddenly a flash of silver. crap. two blade blanks i'd stashed up there, and in a safe way, somehow unsafely got hooked on something and came shooting down. me? ninja like dodged the blades and did try to catch them. hah. quivering steel point down in floor.

only damage: one of the blades shattered my favorite shot glass. last one too. now will have to go on a quest and find more. dammit.

up side: did not end up with a large knife through my foot.

sciatica still sucks though. toughing it out.
 
Ha! That's a Dozier custom from the mid-90's. It belonged to Phil Dozier (Bob's brother).
Bladite, I hope you feel better soon, man. I hate back pain and have suffered with it periodically.
 
been doing crunches. that helps a lot. mostly something being pinched.

if i can drop more weight, and keep up with exercises, it'll go away.

i feel almost "bad" not coming away from the show with lots of new knives. though i did get a nice piece of "hot prototype", that's cool.

considering order a new flashlight, but they are "out of stock". oh well :)

Good question. Wanted a little more privacy as it related to my name and all that. The new name is one a friend of mine and myself made up in high school when I was in Spain. It's kind of a silly word that combines the spanish word for "going crazy", flipando, and the soccer player Ronaldinho.
