Was recently looking for a true left handed 1911...not just a modified righty. Found one that will only run me around $5K... Why oh why was I born left handed in a right handed world?

I've used the 1911 with an ambi-safety and it works just fine, but I like using my thumb for the mag release. I can use the index finger of my right hand on a traditional model, but it's awkward.

Does anyone know if they make an ambi-mag release too??

several companies make and/or sell ambi mag releases for the 1911 - it'll run you about $90.

Sweet, I think he said a buddy bought it at Bass Pro or Cabelas, but I aint sure. It seemed to be a nice tent, and it fit Todd on a cot, and he aint but a couple few inches shorter then me I think.

Morning everyone!! Rise and shine its butt kicking time.


Just picked up a coleman max anodized cook set at that store with the rollback prices for $10 marked down from $30. It has 4 pots/pans that all fit together in a bag about 6" high and 5" across. The smaller pans(12 & 16oz) work as lids for the big pots(20 & 32oz). All of em have handles too and they are light with the whole set weighing in just under a pound.

I have an REI half-dome that I've used for 9 years. Great tent, great warranty. I ripped it awhile back and they sent me a brand new one in exchange for the old one, no cost except shipping.

I think we're going to hang around the Georgia coast a few more days. While paddling yesterday we saw a shark quite a ways up the Altamaha in the shallows. The outfitter said they sometimes come up river with the tide to hunt. He had the smaller gators jumpy. I had one hand on the Tram, although I don't know what I'd have done with it other than give him an eyebrow or two. Got a room last night because of some storms and damn the AC feels good...

ridiculous rain overnight in Charlottesville.
Back on a train *again*, this time for 10 hours! At least Amtrak has some wifi and my phone can charge.
A pigeon sh@t on my while waiting to board,washed it off with rain water and sympathetic napkins. Shoulda left it on to ensure no seat mate.
Waving goodbye to Dixie for awhile, and now have to catch up on the BLADE action.

planes, buses, cabs, boats, ferries, hot air balloon, never a train. Or a helicopter....a chopper ride would be fun
