it's so cold ..

Were expecting accumulations between a foot and 15 inches. 30+ mph winds Just another winter day

The cell phone camera doesn't catch the snow falling but it's still coming down hard. This will be an all day event.

It's been 20 years since I was in weather like that.
Guess you will be busy today Dave;)

Dave, this weather is definitely going to keep us busy today, the snow is extremely wet and heavy! My better half called for assistance at 5:40 this morning, she ditched her SUV after losing control and crossing the center section. We are thankful no one else was traveling in the other lane on HWY 23. We decided her employer will survive without her services today, she's napping on the sofa now.

Seriously, stay safe !

I'm going to Texas hill country this weekend. His in the mid 30's lows in the mid 20's with a change of snow turning to sleet. My wife and I are looking forward to some good hiking!

...then a massage, a couple of cocktails by the fire and great dinners at Rose Hill Manor in Stonewall, TX.

Frankly, having lived in Texas for over 20 years, I miss the cold weather. My daughter lived in Wisconsin for seven years, so we got a couple of good weeks of cold when we visited there. But she has moved back to Texas...so we'll have to get more creative in getting some good winter weather.

I hear you.
when I lived in Louisiana, I was going to vacation to Yellowstone St. park in winter time.

Grew up in western NY, spend 3 winters in MN. Now I live in San Diego. On purpose. I get cold when it gets below the mid 60's. LOL

Of course the price I pay is the cost and politics of CA and the constant infringement of inalienable rights that are supposedly protected by our Constitution, so many of you might say the cost is too high.

I can be at the beach in 20 minutes, the mountains in an hour and the desert in 90 minutes. Last week we went up to Laguna Mountain for hiking and a picnic. It was a bit colder than we expected but my boy scout trained preparedness saved the day. Mil surplus fleece pullover for my daughter, REI soft shell jacket for my wife, and wool blanket in the trunk saved the evening.

I tested out several of my knives, but unfortunately the only picture I got was not very good and showed by Blind Horse knives, not any of my recent fiddleback acquisitions.

Stay warm people and be careful driving. Those pictures bring back a lot of memories, most of them pretty good.

Here are a few pics after clean up. These are taken at my office.

We have a few snow piles. We had much more snow last year at this time but we have more snow coming tonight, tomorrow and this weekend.

This particular pile is about 12 ft high and 30ft deep front to back. My truck is there for size comparison
